There's a lot to cover this month. Dan talks about eBay auctions, a surprise box from a very generous viewer, and much more!
A viewer named David sent Dan a box of items, and it turned out to be much more than expected! Nichole shot footage of Dan opening the box on the day it arrived!
Dan talks about organizing detail parts using some storage cases from the hardware store. Where Dan once had a single cardboard box for his detail parts, he now has half a dozen or so sturdy plastic cases with bins to store and organize detail parts.
He also talks about building handrails for Part 2 of the SP Consist Build episode about handrails. The handrail videos include models besides the main ones that have been in the SP Consist Build series since the beginning, to provide more examples for building handrails.

I see a price tag from Bruce's Train Shop on one of the detail parts. Bruce's was a shop in Sacramento, CA that closed 10 - 12 years ago.

Dan, Another homerun video. I am so happy that David found you so he had an outlet for some of his Father's trains. I always enjoy your modeling projects and reviews. It does make a person stop and think where their collection will end up after their passing. I sold my HO trains and all my brass in the late 90s and just concentrated on my photography and slide collecting. However I am not sure how to pass on the slide collection. Again great video and Happy Easter to you and Nichole.

BLI has made a lot of improvements with this run of the GS-4’s. Granted, I’m still not a fan of their Paragon systems, so LokSound will be the course for me, but I love the model itself.

I recently purchased a BLI HO GS-4 Daylight Special. The instruction book said the on/off switch for the smoke unit was either under the cab or inside the smoke box. It wasn’t in either location. Thanks for pointing out the actual location of the switch. I ran the loco to break it in and used up all the smoke fluid in the process. Of course I didn’t want to run it until I could turn the smoke unit off.

I think they should have at least put a sheet of paper in the box saying that on this model, the switch is here, with a picture or drawing. I'd also like it if they set the switch to be off by default, but I guess a lot of people like the smoke. Anyway, I'm glad you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching!

@@DanielCortopassi Agreed. The manufacturers can leave out the smoke fluid too. I don’t care for the smoke, it doesn’t look realistic IMHO.

I didn't ask for the box to be sent for free. I was going to buy a couple of locomotives and some parts, but David was amazingly generous and sent the box with those and a lot of other stuff in it for free. It was an amazing gift, and I'm grateful for it. Thanks for watching.
