Mr. Freer, before she gets back, go get the distilled white vinegar and pour it over the weeds, it can help. I can give a few tips on visiting CA as well. I went to Santa Monica beach a few times as a kid with camp. San Diego is o.k., they are having some issues with illegal aliens, but as long as you stick to the tourist areas, you will be o.k. Beverly Hills has shut down some of it's stores due to organized shoplifters. I hope you enjoy Disneyland it will wear you out with all the walking but you'll love it. Be prepared to release reality when you enter there. Something to check out is San Juan Capistrano which has an historical Spanish mission with a stunning church. The inside is decorated in golden overlay. Beautiful. Hearst Castle is very interesting as well if you get a chance. Not to be confused with a British castle. Just an amazing estate with all the bells and whistles. Have fun!

@@TheFreerFamily Just stick together as a family, keep your wallet close, smile but don't let strangers get too close. Downtown LA isn't great. As long as you don't make a wrong turn at Albuquerque (little joke) and end up in Watts, your probably all right. Even then, just charm the Cali's with your English accent and you'll be fine. Knotts Berry Farm is fun, so is Movieland wax museum and if you are renting a car, the Farmers market is excellent. If you want, there's a small strip called Olvera Street that is like a little Mexico and there is China town too. If you are vigilant, you will be fine. As they say, keep your head on a swivel which you are familiar with being a Dad with 9 kids. I didn't mention Labrea tarpits as I wasn't sure your girls would enjoy that. Have fun! I'm looking forward to hearing how much you all enjoyed it. 🙂

I should add that Californias are probably some of the very nicest people you will ever meet. They are friendly, chatty, and just easy to talk to. Down to earth nice. Don't believe everything to do with Hollywood has to do with all Cali's. The rest of the state is pretty darn nice. Another thing to know, and I'm sure this is the same in England, is that each part of the state is very different, emphasis on very. There is Hollywood, Beverly Hills and then there are the beach communities. There is San Fran which is a whole other story. There is Northern Cal and Southern Cal and both are very different from one another. There is also rural Cal, and farming Cal. There is also suburban Cal. To summarize, they're all different from what Hollywood and Los Angelos represent. Even the beach communities all are unique and different. I would just say to stick to the touristy places and have yourselves a fantastic time there. Don't worry too much, It is just a heads up caution.

There is a zoo in San Diego. They are slated to get Pandas this year. I don’t know if the timing is going to work but if it does work would be worthwhile to see. Tip take the bus tour. Lots of hills.

Wow you picked a very bad time to go to Uni in California. Including San Diego Uni, with protesters and classes cancelled etc. Friends frustrated having to study from home there. Sounds like only get worse. Better pray Trump gets elected to sort it before go there lol Always nice for a holiday over there though. Santa Monica is a nice place. Great for surfing. The fact Biden is still running shows it's rigged somehow. Biden will win, he will step down so Kamala takes over, which means however long she takes over for, she can then run for another 8 years after if chooses. I don't even like Trump but I'm not blind to see it's unconstitutional what they are doing to him.
