Nigerian weddings are epic! There’s nothing like them to be honest. I’m a Jamaican who married a Nigerian and I look forward to every summer which is wedding season for Nigerians here in the US. It means tons of gorgeous dresses getting custom made- like red carpet type ish, lots of food, prayer and parties. When Nigerian parents pray for the couple- they stay prayed for. It’s such a beautiful experience. I had to have 3 ceremonies- an introduction where my husband and all his family came to my family and formally informed my father and his brothers (the elders of my family) that he wanted to marry their daughter - and pay any money my family required as a bride price( yes that really happens- my dad asked for cows and other stuff), then a traditional Igbo wedding and then the white wedding.

We respect marriages but any from of abuse is something we hate. Our ppl can’t be suffering while we enjoying 💁🏽‍♀️

No worries about that. I did my Ancestry DNA 🧬 and found out I’m 40% Nigerian. Manchester Jamaica must be made of Nigeria. Next test is African Ancestry test to see which tribe I belong to. My mother said my great grandmother was from the Maroon tribe in Jamaica. Once I do the African Ancestry.com, then I’ll have an idea which true linkage is from.
