Captain Tim is lucky that all he got was wet when that extra-big wave hit. Had he been knocked off by it, he'd have had a good long fall down to the rocks, or into that moving water - and this video would not have had a happy ending.

Fricken tourists! I was a bit worried the guy was going to get blasted off the wall and hit his head but that was fuckin classic, hahahaha. Glad you caught your little adventure on film. Aloha

@fireknifer808, I guess then, this guy was lucky not to have been literally 'ha'ole' from pulling a stunt like this! I live in a tourist area in Canada. I've lost count of people being air-ambulanced out of here because they pulled some death defying stunt.

@fireknifer808 yeah but haole means something totally different. ha'ole and haole are different words.

I hate seeing stuff like this. I live here on Kaua'i and people forget how powerful the water is. Yes, it is fun to take risks sometimes but that water was much to rough for ANYONE to be on the rocks in the video. This is how people get killed. Everyone says it is such a tragedy when somebody dies here in the water, but usually it is because they did not heed warning signs or listen to anyone when the went out. When in doubt, don't go out! Stop posting videos like this, it gets people killed!

And as for the haole comment, there are plenty of local folks here that have died doing stunts just as stupid as this guy. It has nothing to do with local vs. haole (which i'm sick of hearing about, it's old news) and everything to do with stupidity.
