Having been using Puma's DN2, DNE3 and Foreverrun the last year or so, I really disagree with the "it's expensive for a Puma" statement. As far as I'm concerned Puma is top notch and I would definitely not give more for other brands just for the brand. If anything, I'd pay more for a Puma over a Nike or Adidas.
@andribohАй бұрын
I have exactly the same rotation of Puma shoes, and the durability is outstanding, my first pair of ForeverRun has 800km and the outsole is still great. The midsole is a bit flat but is still good enough for a short, easy run.

Puma Magmax and Asics Superblast 2, for best shoes of the year!!! The Magmax is a bit heavier than the Superblast 2, but delivers nearly the same performance wise. Plus they are cheaper.
@JohanSand-yy7vgАй бұрын
Puma Magnify Nitro 2 weighs slightly less, is also very comfortable and well cushioned, but a bit wider. And costs about £35 less at RRP. Essentially it does the same job at a significantly lower price.

I completely agree. My first pair has gone over 900 kms and the 2nd pair cost £90 plus shipping.

was interested in these but not a fan of 10mm offset. whats the dif between magnify/velocity/forrever run? also is manify nitro 3 coming out soon?
@RichardHitchcock-ig4lj17 күн бұрын
I don’t notice the drop and the Magnify 2 has a very smooth rocker. The Forever Run is a stability shoe and the Velocity Nitro 3 has less and inferior foam. The Mag Max has superseded the Magnify (which is why they are so cheap now) so I’d be surprised if there was a version 3. The best thing I can say about these shoes is that I prefer them on long runs to the ASICS Superblasts.

I'm smitten with them too. I bought them on a lark and they quickly became my favorite daily shoe. That outsole is amazing and not just good on wet roads, I have done some trail running with them. Great video.

asics gel nimbus 26 vs Puma MagMax?
@BruceWayne-us3kwАй бұрын
I've been training for a half-marathon since mid September that is going to be on November 28th and I am registered for another one in march. My goal for the one in November is 1:45 or better. Hypothetically speaking, if I achieve that goal, would you consider 1:35 a realistic goal for the next one?
@61jsАй бұрын
I would decide after the 28th after experiencing the effort required. Good luck.
@BruceWayne-us3kwАй бұрын
@@61js Thanks. 10 minutes is a pretty big improvement to make in such a relatively short timeframe. I'm not sure if 1:45 is realistic either. My PB is 1:49:12 but I was also in better shape back then.

Can't wait to start running with my Magmax ! Just waiting for the mailman ... I really wanted another high cushioning shoes that could handle well in raining runs like my Gel-Nimbus 26. The Vomero 17, Nova Blast 4, Wave Sky 8 and Invincible 3 are fantastic shoes, but not in wet surfaces unfortunately.

I've still never tried a Puma shoe. Maybe someday....though I'd need something a little wider. I picked up the Superblast 2 last week and look forward to giving that one a good testing. I never tried the original....I did try a few times but it was nowhere to be found in my size U.S. 13.

Good shoe ! I cannot run fast in it without sinking in too much and hip pain but I think it is perfect for recovery cruising . I’m a fan of the grip in wet . I am 200 lbs and 6’1” and kind of big and musclular for distance running and puma mag max feels plenty soft to me at my weight. I cannot run faster than 8 min miles without hip pain ; I have Boston 12 and now a superblast 2 and they are my faster tempo shoes , possible to run slow but much prefer puma for all my easy runs . It is by far the best recovery shoe I have ever tried .

@paulmulksАй бұрын
Wish it had their Nitro Elite foam in then it would be an absolute banger IMO. That Nitro foam on its own is just a little too firm for my liking. I sent the Glycerin Max back today as well, wasn't as fun to run in as my Prime X2 Strung so refund inbound on that one.
@MLHuntАй бұрын
45mm of Puma's current race foam and no plate? Sounds like an unstable mess.
@paulmulksАй бұрын
@MLHunt Who said anything about not using a plate? I was referring to the better midsole foam in the elite shoes
@MLHuntАй бұрын
@@paulmulks I inferred by your mention solely of upgrading the foam that this was the only change in the design you were proposing. I agree that If they went to a much softer foam, it would make a big difference IF they added some sort of stiffening agent such as a plate or a firmer carrier foam layer. But I do think that 40 mm plus of the most recent soft racing foams In a shoe without some sort of stabilization added to the design would probably be a mess. You can counter that the Asics Superblast 2 uses a tall stack of Asics' top tier racing foam, but that shoe works because (1) FFTurbo+ is among the firmest of all the superfoams in use, and (2) they added a thin layer of a training foam (FF Blast + Eco I think) to the bottom of the midsole for additional stability.
@paulmulksАй бұрын
@MLHunt Couldn't agree more 👍🏻

In Australia the Magmax is $280 and the Brooks Glycerin Max is $350. So it is cheap for a Puma and compared to the competitors.
