The roads you drove to work in the morning could be flooded in the afternoon or you might have ended up somewhere you do not want to be and you don't know what lies ahead...but don't panic. There is a picture of jeep compass stuck in an a flooded underpass somewhere in Coimbatore doing rounds. The funny thing is the engine shut off and the doors got jammed because of sensors going kaput. But the level of the water as is shown is only alittle above the centre of the tyre. So better keep such SUVs safe at home when drizzling starts and keep a maruti for emergencies.

Adding to this Turn on defogger or applying shaving cream on the glass area inside the cabin does the job (tutorials on how to apply is available on yt) Apply hydrophobic spray (available on amazon) or coating to repel water off the windshield Dont panic during hydroplaning just take off the foot over gas and wait for the car to regain its stability Avoid using cruise control.

Great video guys!! Shows the commitment towards community, need of the hour. 😍 Also, be careful while parking your car in slush/muddy surface. And a piece of advice, have a towing cable in your boot. I was able to help a lady today morning, who parked her car beside the main road and by the time she came back the front wheel got buried into the slush. With the towing cable in my car, I was able to pull this car out within 10mins, and the hassle was solved.

If possible,don't take car outside on flooded road. I had to drive the car on a night on flooded road which is a regular route for me. I was following a pickup van thinking that would be safe. But the van passed the road without issues and my car end up in road hydro-locked. The onlookers helped me to push the car on side of road and I had to arrange RSA with insurance to tow it to service centre. The car spent next 4 months replacing most of the main engine parts.Since I didn't have engine cover add-on the insurance company rejected engine part costs. Half of the cost (non engine parts) was covered by insurance company while I had to pay rest from my pocket. Anyway the car run good nowadays ,But still not good as it had been.

Timely and exceptionally useful post. Thank you. I have just returned after checking my nephew’s car (Toyota Altis GL-D) after they got stranded (and managed to drive out despite their car stalled with three infants & grandfather inside) along heavily waterlogged Annamanada-Koratty road. Engine air filter was soggy, suggesting water intake. But vehicle was idling fine when I walked in to their porch. Suggested to air dry the filter and to get it changed tomorrow itself as I doubt the soggy one even if dried out won’t perform with dust caking up all over the filter elements.

I'm lucky to have a Gypsy as my beater. It has clocked more miles in the city in the last one month than my other cars. Yes there's a German in there too. As you rightly said, being considerate to others on the road is the key. One has to pay lot of attention to the two wheeler riders, especially the food delivery boys who are battling it out even during heavy downpours. I make it a point to tip them if they're delivering food when it's raining. Few things I follow is to apply this rain repellent product called rain-x which I find it quite useful. On highways even if the rain has subsided, I keep the wiper running at moderate speed. Heavy splashing of water onto your windscreen from vehicles on opposite lane can happen and unexpectedly. It can really blind you and is quite dangerous. People who have AT and MT tyres on their SUV s really need to drive cautiously as the wet surface grip is quite low with them. They generally are less grippier anyways. Also make it a point to clean the windshields thoroughly with suitable shampoo to take away all the muck, fly splatter, grimes etc Keeping a cloth handy is another thing esp if the car you're driving doesn't have defogger. Very well presented video as always and a timely one too dears. More power to you both. If this video ends up preventing even one accident, you've done your job. Cheers, manoj.

In heavy rain driving hazard light is very helpful.. if you are driving behind a car which has hazard light on then we can judge the distance between them very easily.. especially on highway.. for me it’s helpful.. and I wish the vehicle in front switch on the hazard light …

When both rear and front glass gets frosty driver gets uncomfortable during that time most of the inexperienced car user turn the AC knob to hot air that will create trouble in visibility too much.

**Real life insident**Never ever try to cross through water when a bigger vehicle is approaching from opposite side.the water level will considerably rise than actual level.and the the water will enter through air uptake..I met with the same situation and had to face a terrible situation.the connecting rode got bend and after 1 mont the rode broke while running rupturing the engine block..had to literally change the engine with a new one...thanks it was maruthi, which provide a half engine replacement..the insurence will not even pay out a single Penney..so never drive in water...if you are in water and car stalled...came out of the vehicle..push it aside ...call a towing truck..Now a days if it's a heavy rain I never takes my car out...use public transport of towwheelr
