We have two Beagles, and omg they are definitely a handful. Our male especially. His name should've been Houdini because if you look away for 30 seconds he will literally climb the gate and he will be gone on an adventure for hours lol. He always comes home, but dang... Our golden retriever on the other hand is the sweetest girl but super high energy for some reason. She is only a year old though so she's still jus a babay.

My dad has two English Springer Spaniels, he has an older boy and younger girl. The boy is really chilled out but the girl is a menace 😂 she’s definitely the boss too

I grew up with a beagle, she was the cutest dog on the planet!! Definitely correct on the training though, treats are a MUST!! but absolutely worth it for the cuddles and kisses. Absolute sweethearts

I can't tell you what to get but I can tell you what I've had. I have had both a Cocker spaniel and a Bernese Mountain Dog at the same time. They were both my first and second dog. The Cocker Spaniel, she didn't age very well and got super cranky, snippy and would bite when she was old. That's all I can really say. My Bernese Mountain though was expensive, she was the smallest of a litter of 20. She lived for actually 12 years and was a Libra. She was a huge baby! She would see a bee and body slam our back door to get in. She was always super hot in the summer but hated water, didn't care for toys, and would definitely befriend a burglar. Very much and indoor dog that sleeps all day. But, she was a beautiful dog, had the sweetest soul and personality. I consider her to be my first dog and the first dog I fell in love with. I would never own one again though...I have a rescue shepsky-pitbull now who is a Virgo, and she is by far the BEST dog I have ever had. First dog to like water, toys, cuddle, be stuck at the hip and protect me. I would own a Pomeranian again too. Great Dane sounds fun! I really want a Doberman for my next!!! I have a 14 year old Golden Retriever mixed Collie (she’s mainly Golden Retriever) named Willow, an 11 yr old Terrier mix named Buddy, & (we think) a 4 yr old Doxin and Golden Retriever mix named Peggy (she’s a little bigger than our Terrier mix, Buddy). And they’re all blonde haha. It’s a LOT of shedding! My good friend down the street from me, her family has 2 Bernese Mountain dogs.

I love chihuahuas too, Bree. My first one was my own personal dog. The next ones would be a cattle dog, boxer, and dane. I had a cattle dog mix when I was growing up, and she was amazing! We actually have a cattle dog now.

I definitely agree with Great Dane. My friends let us live with them for a little bit and they owned a Great Dane named champ and he was just the sweetest sweetest boy and he was so scared of people bigger than him. So my husband was 6'4 and it scared him but he got used to him and loved him.

I am so glad you mentioned the Nova Scotia Duck tolling Retriever. My puppy looks just like one but has no retriever in him at all! I did his DNA and he is 34% American Pit Bull Terrier, 22% German Shepherd, and the rest a mix of American Bulldog, Australian cattle dog, staffy and Dogue de Bordeau Since I've started in the dog industry myself I have also fallen in love with different breeds! I would love to have a Viszla or a Borzoi! Edit to add Boston Terrier and Border Collie to my list!

We have 2 cavaliers King Charles spaniels they are the sweetest dogs ever. 🥰 we had another cavalier a few years ago I was very attached to, she passed away at 8 years old there life span can be pretty unpredictable because of the heart issues they have which is unfortunate but I wouldn’t trade the memories for anything in the world. They are the absolute sweetest dogs, we also have a redbone counhound they are beautiful dogs

I have a Bernese mountain dog and it was my first dog as an adult to get on my own and he’s the best dog to ask for , they are so loyal and smart and goofy and they do she’s a lot and I always get compliments on him and they don’t need a lot of exercise they love to chill at the house and nap but still walk your dogs regularly 😄he’s also very friendly with animals and people if you train them the right way they won’t be mean

I love this video idea! Personally, I’d adopt any breed, but I do have special attachments to some. I grew up with a puggle and he was the BEST! He was super energetic like a beagle when he was young but became more like a pug in his older years. I’m also drawn to all the box-faced pups (boxers, mastiffs, pitties, bullies, etc.), but I just love everyone 😂🐾

BreeAnn that was a great video idea! I currently have a Schnauzer who i made his birthday on my birthday which is July 18th. His name is Eli. He will be 15 years old and other than suffering from dry eyes we constantly dr and being mostly blind now Dr Chris says he's in excellent health! I also have a Dashund mix his name is Lenox-Muskie he is 4 and will be 5 on November 23rd. We know his exact birthdate! I totally prefer small boy dogs though when i was younger i had 2 Toy Poodles at 2 different times. One was a girl her name was Tootsie. the 2nd one i got in 1995 for my Momma was a boy and he was Apricot, his name was Dusty. Tootsie was very sweet and while i was at school and my Momma was at work she NEVER used the bathroom in the floor! She would hold it till we got home. I know that wasn't good for her to hold it, but thats what she did. We also had a Springer Spaniel he was found at a restaurant wondering around looking for scraps. He was an old boy and we assume his owner was an elderly person that passed away. We took him in and he loved me and my Husband, but he was my Husbands baby! My dream dog is a big ole male Saint Bernard! I think they're so magestic!

I have a Yorkie. She is my heart, blessed with beauty and brains. She has been my essential emotional support , and with me through it all, especially in my darkest days. I always had poodles before, and she helped heal my broken heart after my dog, Daisy had to be euthanized. I would like to have a lab, but don't have the space for one. I am more of a small dog person.

All large breed dogs have a shorter life expectancy. Part of it is because most of them are susceptible to bloat and heart issues. The surgery for bloat is very invasive and doesn’t always work. Vets used to recommend the stomach tacking surgery once they hit full adult size. But recently it was discovered that it wasn’t necessary and doesn’t always stay.

They do unfortunately. :( Most Brachycephalic breeds struggle most of their life while some live really healthy lives. It's all due to how they were bred and how short their snout is. I LOVE pugs!
