Thank you so much for doing this video. I've taken my family on a few business class flights but never with Air Canada. It just so happens we are looking at a trip to Tokyo, exactly the route you took. This is super helpful. Again, thank you!

Why wouldnt you avoid Boeing 777 ? Like Seriously you should have heard all the flaws about 777 plane.
@chenster02453
@chenster02453 5 ай бұрын
@@Aaaandy_kick I understand where you're coming from and I thank you for your concern. However, I've never allowed the outliers (positive or negative) to influence my life. I've traveled the globe on carriers that have long since gone bankrupt. I also understand data, standard deviations, and can think critically. There are approx 43,000 fatal car accidents every year but yet, we still love to take long road trips. 77% of motor vehicle accidents happen within 10 miles from home yet, we all accept this risk and commute every single day. The fact remains that the odds (today) continue to be, "ever in my favor" 🙂
@Aaaandy_kick

@@chenster02453 It is your family and your decision. But stats wouldnt imply here, coz Boeing is known with flaws manufacturing. Risk of being killed in an incident is totally different than dying in a transit that is known with flaw. When you mentioned car accidents, you do know that there are car recalls when they found manufacturing flaws right? I don't even want to elaborate on FAA.... The chances of survivability for a car accident and plane accident are two different things. Anyway, it is your choice afterall. By the way I am data analyst for the Ontario, Canada.

the problem with AC is the endless delays. out of my last 30 flights, only 3 have left on the intended time. and 4 flights were cancelled.
@allons.y

This particular flight didn’t have any delays luckily but if it had it definitely would have been a different experience. Also agree that getting to your destination safely and on time is the priority above all else though so hopefully they can sort out their punctuality issues

What happened to the faux leather Acqua di Parma amenity kit? AC was still handing them out earlier this year instead of this fabric version.
@allons.y
@allons.y 2 күн бұрын
Air Canada is not consistent with their amenity kits. I took a flight with them 2 days ago and it was the fabric Acqua di Parma amenity kit but in grey fabric with black trim. So you can’t really count on on specific type with them unfortunately

I wonder where that footage in the safety video that purports to be from the Yukon was filmed. I ask because I live in Whitehorse and that footage… has surprisingly few trees.
@allons.y
@allons.y 5 ай бұрын
Good question it would be great to know more details. Perhaps they purposely chose a spot with less trees than usual so as to not detract from the safety footage too much.

Air Canada is generally better than most carriers except those based in Asia. American/European carriers are definitely worse than Air Canada.
@allons.y
@allons.y 5 ай бұрын
I generally think that Asian and Middle Eastern airlines are top notch. Air Canada signature business class seems pretty comparable to some European and U.S airlines. I would rank KLM and Air France above Air Canada and say they are on par with Delta One and United Polaris. Though they do have better food than United

(I did premium economy and upgraded with eupgrade credits) So, Maple Leaf Lounge for me :P At least the beer is still free so I can drink until I *think* im eating a gourmet meal while chowing down on the been-there-for-a-while buffet :P

How was the inflight meals? Are there many Japanese on board?
@allons.y
@allons.y 3 ай бұрын
I found it to be kind of a mixed bag. Signature class meals were great but everything else was just so-so. You can see the exact review of the food inflight at the following timestamps 7:39, 8:48, 14:14, 14:46 which are also available as chapters in the description of you want to see the details of the food. Also not sure what you mean if there was a lot of Japanese on board? Are you asking if there was Japanese food or people? There was a few Japanese food offerings that you can see in the menu on the video. As for Japanese people this flight was from Toronto to Japan on a Canadian airline so it seemed mostly to be Canadians travelling to Japan from what I noticed

Lounges at 2:53. There are much better business class lounges than Air Canada. The problem with AC is there are no real Canadian competitor airlines for international flights. So people often get stuck with the airline.

@allons.y 5 ай бұрын
Ah yes of course there are much better lounges than Air Canada in the world. But I was specifically referring to lounges in comparison to the other lounges at toronto Pearson airport. In toronto we sadly lack good lounges so Air Canada’s is actually the nicest one in Toronto.

I am Canadian and we tried to support AC as much as possible. But when you realize the Asian airless try harder and better ,you kind of feel sad. We fly to Mexico city to see our granddaughter twice a year and there's food and alcoholic beverages in Aeromexico for the similar price. I don't really care about precooked food but some wines or beer go good with the movies

A few years ago I took trip from the east coast of Canada to Alberta. We were going to be out there for a month and when we got off the aircraft there was news that some AC people would be going on strike. For three weeks the strike threat was hanging over my head and I absolutely had to be back by a specific date. Finally I had enough and decided to go home early, with my wife and kids staying with the grandparents. The change in ticket went OK, wasn't crazy expensive and all was going well. I arrived at the airport really early and the AC lady at check in was taking good care of me. Then her radio went off. It turns out that a full aircraft had left the gate, went about 50 metres and then something broke. The passengers needed to be unloaded, and for them it was about to be hot, frustrating, miserable, and a whole lot of hurry up and wait. My lady radioed that as soon as she was finished with me she'd come out to help. At this point a co-worker came up to her and snarled at her that she had a break coming and that she was to take it before she went out. So the passengers endured extra time on a hot airplane and once again the staff and management of Air Canada prove their motto, "At Air Canada, we're not happy until you're not happy." Oh, they never did go on strike.

No matter how luxurious the service is, the main issue is that they are entirely incapable of operating a punctual service. They could offer a King Size bed and a 12 hour foot massage, but if they can't get me on time for my connection what purpose does hot towels and champagne serve? And the access to the lounges, particularly Montreal is a joke - always full, always filthy and always assholes.
