Albany, maybe where you live. We have hawks, eagles, great horned owls here. My neighbor saw a hawk swoop in and take her sons’ rabbit off the ground. I wouldn’t let my dachshund out in the backyard unless I was out there with him.

I agree with you about the crate. Some people use it as punishment, and that’s when you get a negative connotation about it. My sister’s lab loves his crate. As he’s gotten older he spends more time sleeping in his. My golden doesn’t care one way or another about his. One thing I’ve started doing is that if he has done something bad, he used to go in the crate, and I would pull him out. Now I leave him in there. I want him to know the crate is his safe place, and that even if he’s in trouble he can go inside the crate and I will leave him alone. I swear he starts smiling now when he goes into it.

liking your crate is like it has become a true love for the dog also my dog loves his crate and he will chew one his bone there, play with his toy there unless it is big, and he loves to sleep in it, my dog loves to sleep in his crate even when he does not have to so just see what it is like when you like something and someone judges you, that is kinda how Koda would feel if he was a human or just him how he is if he can process anything. also that was a joke but what if it was not he would probably feel bad about it so just know what it is like first before being like "why are you guys putting him in the crate that is mean" but it is not when they love it and he loves his.

I don't need a crate as my chocolate labrador sleeps outside in her kennel and occasionally on the couch inside :-). She learnt to wee outside really quickly and had 1 or 2 accidents when really little and nothing since. She's nearly 5 now. She wee's on command which is pretty funny and very handy when about to take long trips. Love watching your video's and seeing people who love dogs as much as I do.

No, people keep mixing dogs with poodles and it’s so unhealthy. Nobody seems to care because they are so cute. A golden doodle? Yeah the golden retriever is the #1 to develop cancer. A golden retriever almost always dies from cancer. If they live past that they will develop major hip issues as well as other things. The poodle side of that? Well the poodle is prone to a lot eye issues, blindness, cataracts, etc.. and to top it off hip issues, elbow issues, knee issues, etc... the Golden is prone to those as well. Now the “goldendoodle” puppies have a huge chance to develop some sort of health issue from both sides of the parents, making them much more unhealthy than just getting one of the breeds. Poodle mix breeders are also known to be money hungry and not educated on the breeds and many do not perform important health screening tests on the parent dogs. Such a sofa hip/elbow certification etc... which are crucial for breeds like the golden to make sure the offspring has the best possible hips in a since they most likely will develop issues anyways.
