I wish Unplugged the best with Police upfitting, but when the Blazer EV becomes widely available, I’m not sure if sales will be easy. There are tons of LEO specific changes GM and Ford provide from the factory, and if given the choice I think PDs would default toward their fleet sales and support experience with GM/Ford over Tesla.

In Australia you can get a 50cc moped licence at 16 or a car learners permit at 16. But you can't get a probationary car licence in Australia until 17. However a judge can grant an extra ordinary licence at 16.

Why are the laws in America so slack when it comes to driving? I am in the UK and I am 15 and you're not allowed to get a drivers licence until you are 17, and even then, there are a lot of laws that you need to follow for the first few months of driving. E.g.: you have to have an adult over the age of 30 in your passenger seat at all times when driving for the first how many miles, etc. Yes, I know that you can get a provisional licence at the age of 15 and 10 months, strange time but ok. But you would have to drive with learner driver plates/stickers until you are 17 and get a full licence. I am guessing that the rules in the US vary between each state but it still seems much more slack than the British rules.

I just passed my test in the uk and just bought a Hyundai i20 2017 for £7600, and the insurance it £8000 now, but it’s £4000 if I start to drive it in July, I could have got a model 3 for £19000 2019, but I was un insurable as it’s too powerful for my age.

You should think about getting your Tesla(s), wrapped in clear PPF (PAINT PROTACTIVE FILM). Like at least the front part, bumper, hood, side fender. It will protect the paint from fadding, bugs, debris, small rocks, etc. Its a good investment. And maybe get a protective film for your windsheild. Protect it from small rocks, etc. Congrats on your new car Claire! Enjoy the freedom it comes with. 😂🎉

Well it depends because right now in the rental they’re in they don’t have solar but their new house will definitely have a solar array. With their location I imagine solar can cover 100% of needs during the day and also a portion at night with battery storage

It's not how many Tesla's, it's how many trips. She can now drive herself to school or a friends. No more double trips for parents dropping off and picking up. Potentially less energy needed with this car addition. Kids typically drive about 5-15 miles a day. So probably $0.50 to $1/day of energy for her car for home charging and double for only Supercharging.
