I bought a purple 23 r3 after lots of research, and watching lots of videos, I am not dissappointed! I'm a 5'8 lady, kinda tall for my spot. I love this bike and lots of good info from this Aussie, get out there and ride as he says! its fun! If I was in the Aussie states I would so put my hat in for a new bike. Ths chanel absolutely helped me pick my first bike, slow learning for me, but worth it!

Gives an idea of the bike’s versatility when it’s loved equally by a 5’8 lady and a 6’1 dude. Great to hear you’re out there doing it!! Good for you!! Thanks so much for your support and your comment.

I’ve got a 2018 R3, have put 35000km on it and still looks and runs like new. Plan to keep it for a while yet! Done a couple of long trips, only problem for me was sore knees but that was after a 1000km ride so probably to be expected. Thanks for the videos, it’s a great channel!

Hey mate, I first found your channel back in February and I was on the edge of whether I should get my licence or not. I watched your 1month review video back then and that was the push I needed. I booked my learners licence that night. I finally got my licence last week which was the earliest I could book. First thing I did was buy a second hand R3. I’ve been loving it great looking bike, smooth and fun doesn’t feel intimidating perfect for learning. Keep making videos mate and I’ll keep watching them thanks!

I love comments like this, thanks so much for your support. Testimony to the brilliance of the R3 - the vids make themselves! Thanks mate, stay safe.

These R3 videos are very good thanks. As a Newby I can suggest doing a video on ideal rev ranges for gears because I’m unsure where to rev it to and where it should sit for cruising

I bought my orange 22 R3 in November after not riding for 25 years. I'm 5'5" and this bike fits me very well. Hubby is pretty impressed with her too and he has always rode way bigger bikes. Thanks for the content on this bike it's been helpful getting me back into riding.

My experience with the R3 has been very similar. I bought a used blue 2020 model with 900kms on it mid COVID to avoid public transport. Just about to tick over 20,000kms mostly commuting but many Sunday runs sprints over Mt Glorious/Nebo and a couple of advanced riding days. I replaced the tyres with Bridgestone S22 that was a noticeable improvement in handling. I have had the team at Northstar Yamaha doing the major services. They really know R3s. At the 10k service they adjusted everything and the improvements were noticeable, the bike was smoother and easier to control. I’d recommend it to anyone inheriting someone else’s modifications. I’m 5’10 the ergonomics are perfect, so much so I’m having trouble deciding what to upgrade to.

Hey mate thanks for the comment and support. Hard to beat the R3 for the missus, one of the only road bikes weighing in under 190kg she’s a breeze to move around.

I sat on an R1 last month and it’s seat felt so much higher than the R3, so my advice if you’re vertically challenged is to stay on an R3 or maybe go to the R7 in time which to me feels exactly the same height as the 3.

So you still love it, but in your travels have you come across the competition? If so, do you regret the Yamaha purchase? Like the Honda CBR500 is comparable in price but higher performer and arguably better looking. Just curious. Great vid.
@AussieMoto
@AussieMoto Жыл бұрын
Yeah I love that Honda as well and yeah it looks incredible but one of the issues was availability. Woulda possibly still been waiting for one, same with some of the Kawasaki’s. The other thing is although ‘comparable’ the Honda is absolutely more expensive, also its fuel economy isn’t as good as the R3. Plus, one more thing, I reckon the R3 is bloody gorgeous. No regrets. Thanks for the comment.

I have exactly the same bike as you, same year, same color ! I traded a two months old KTM 390 Duke for it because the R3 was better adapted to what I'm looking for in a bike. I've been riding for 52 years and this is my 27th bike....I've had all the sizes up to 1100cc including 600's, VFR's in 750 and 800 variants, Customs, etc. Now I want only bikes that will do between 160 and 200 kmh, not more ! They are a lot more fun if you forget your ego and don't care about what the ''others'' will say ! I need to keep my driver's licence and that's a good step in the right direction ! The R3 is a little jewel ( I owned for short times a CBR250R and a Ninja 300 and the R3 is definitely better than these two. ). I know the Ninja 400 is somewhat faster but I can't stand the look and the fit and finish is not as good as Yamaha...One can't go wrong with an R3, preferably the Gen 2 ( 2019+ ) !

I still love this bike and I’ve put another 10,000k’s on the clock. Too many people upgrade before they’re capable of getting the most out of a bike.

Im considering either the ninja 400 vs r3 (2023) Any ideas?
@AussieMoto
@AussieMoto Жыл бұрын
I’m a bit bias, but I say R3. Looking at it objectively though the Ninja 400 is an awesome bike with a little bit more HP. For me though neither bike is going to be your ‘end-game’ so see which dealership is going to look after you the best and even though it seems a little shallow, pick the one you think looks the best. Both will be a great bike so it’s hard to go wrong.
