I lived in Germany for 3 years.. Every benefits come with a cost. First, do you know how much income tax every citizen pays from their salary? I was paying around 45% of my salary to as tax. Second, corruption is almost zero (much much less than UK & USA). And Third, too much Govt control in everybody's life which an Indian can not sustain. Just check these facts....

1 to 1.5 Euro wine is mostly Italian not so good quality.The quality wine is Euro 5 onwards. Transport and accommodation is costly. Eatables are comparatively same as India.

Since Malta is an Island food is quite expensive there. I remember that McDonalds was almost twice than in Germany. Also Gas/Benzin was very expensive there. I don’t know about the housing costs since I was staying in an hotel. Also quite a lot of the houses looked quite old fro the outside.

Most dairy products seems cheap. Even clothes . But strange india salaries are low but life is costlier in cities. Europe paying salaries are comparatively more. Only Food in india is cheaper and get lot of varieties

I think big part of salary is gone into the rent an apartment. Grocery and others expenses are not costly.
