The hardest thing for me is that I dont have anyone to give stuff too. None of my friends really cares about makeup. So when I declutter, its like "is it worth the space to just throw away?" Because then it just feels wasteful and I end up keeping it. Its a lot easier to declutter when you know its going to make someone happy and not go to waste, then to just throw it away. So it ends up staying when ehh....I just want the space.

I totally understand you Rebecca, it's the same for me! I have given some of my friends makeup, but they use it like once a month, and they for sure don't have a magnetic palette, so it makes me super sad to throw away stuff. I end up selling what's new or newish, bit the rest ends up being thrown away

Reconnoiter is one of my favorite words. And I find nothing as satisfying to declutter as single shadows, especially from depotted palettes or handfuls of shadows I've picked up. I may only declutter three but I then will feel so inspired to create a new palette (and add in Natasha shadows or shadows from Sydney Grace palettes or my newly decluttered and now perfect for me Clionadh collection). Getting the text yesterday from the 17 year old who got my decluttered multichromes fully made my Christmas.

I don’t care for singles for myself. I love palettes. I’m about them curating a color story for me. Watching other people’s singles OTOH are fascinating! I always just organize my eyeshadows (mostly MUG & Sydney Grace plus a depotted Juvia’s Place palette) by colour tones, such as blue-emerald greens and teals together with blues in the one Z-palette, warm yellows, reds, purples and oranges in another and cool toned yellows, olives, rusts and neutrals in the other... like all the tones match each other and despite them ranging in actual colours - it gives them the impression of being monochromatic. So, when I do reorganize them - I just adjust them around but they always stay the same - in theory. I mean, they change, but you know what I mean? Anyways, you didn’t ask. Ha ha ha.

I loved this video so much. I feel so inspired to only keep the things I truly love. I also feel more connected to my older stuff because I've been through so much with them and the newer stuff excites me when it first arrives but when it enters my collection I still reach for my trusty older stuff. Also, I want to start depotting some of my eyeshadow palettes. I have too much and for many of them there are a few beautiful shades I want too keep but the rest I could do without I'm just scared I will ruin the shadows 😅

I had bought a discontinued palette off Mercari and had another big one and decided they were too big to use. I drew a grid so my husband would know which ones to depot and I repressed those that broke. Only one seems a total loss. Just yesterday, I gathered all my singles and made two monochromatic-ish palettes. Even if I never use them, I love how they look. All to say I find this video fascinating because I 💕 looking at color and after approximately 200 declutter videos to keep me preoccupied until Inauguration Day, this was a delightful alternative.
