The scariest part was swimming in cloudier water than we are used to. The sharks were gentle and amazing.

Awesome video! Did y’all have any problems getting a permit to swim with the whales or did you have success for the original day you booked?

Hi! Great question! We went on a tour with La Paz Divers and they arranged the permits and timing so that we were able to go on the same day that we reserved for. They were fabulous and our guide was a marine biologist specializing in sharks. He was so knowledgeable and made the experience extra special for our small group. Hot Tip: The smaller the boat/group the more time you'll get in the water with the whale sharks. There are only a certain number of people allowed in the water at a time and so boats have to rotate through their guests to give everyone a chance to get in the water.
