Always use free skill point at fresh start so you can use HP regen. After 5 deaths I notice it and saved much more meds early efficient to fight.

Just bought it for $5.99. Holy shit am I addicted. Just for exploration wise it’s a blast. Not really any missions yet. It’s like Tarkov, State of Decay or simplified Rust had a baby.

If you havent already, there is a fire station that can converted to a base. pretty big, 2 story and most important its CLEAN. located about half way between Trader Joe's and Creek Prison, middle of a brown patch on the map with a horseshoe shaped road leading around it. will have some zeds tho so be ready for a fight.

Im loving the game... Except for the enemy respawn on reload. If i die in a radiated area and reload, all the enemies i killed are now there. That is atteition, and it isnt fixed by the place workbench which is supposed to stop enemy spawning (which is a stupid thing to have to do - just disable complete enemy respawn after loading a save).

I feel like the core of the game is too arcadey. When I think of zombies I think of The Walking Dead, with HORDES of slow-stumbling zombies that are dangerous in numbers. Is it possible to turn this game into a true zombie survival one?

​@@rudyrudy5384it probably depends on what version of the steam deck you have, but try turning off the settings like "players interact with grass" and "use extreme blood" and also lower shadows and vegetation

I need to use melee toggle off its annoying. Just bought this for like 6 bucks and died quite a few times trying to figure out game and mechanics. So many mechanics to learn lol. Had to restart a brand new character also because it was just easier when i still learning this game qnd getting better as i go. Even though its still early access i can say i definitely got my moneys worth and haveing a fun time. Struggling to find a gps found it on one pkay though then died found like 4 compass and no gps so can't find a stupid gps lol. So can't see where i am and made a base but without a gps i can't mark map so i think im going to start over again and will build base probably buy rv camps by big city mall so its easier to find till i het gps then can make a good base. Don't forget to set a reapawn point with sleeping bag or you will random respawn which definitely can be hard to find your dead body then lol. I also turned on auto save because i forget to save while playing and you can die so easily especially early game lol. There is also a toggle for looting i noticed so i don't have to hold f just press it and wait.

A Xbox controller works decently, you’ll still have to use a keyboard for some things such as crouching and using a flashlight. But most of the basics still work tho

Haven't played it for almost a year waiting for multiplayer. I think it's too late for that to save this game. Dev keeps adding more stuff that doesn't add anything compelling enough to play it again.

I wish these guides covered fuel, i have 4 fuel cans and still can't gas up my vehicle :/ Do we harvest it? All all the ones in the pumps empty?

If you walk to the side (near the back) you should get a prompt to refuel. You just hold F and you will see an animation start. Wait a few seconds and it will be refueled. Let me know if you are still having trouble and I will make a video for you.

To be honest, i thought the same at first. I continued and gave it a shot and i gotta say this is a really well made game. BUT when I tried the tutorial, it ran weirdly bad, was just meh. Then when i got in the game it changed for me and I understood the assignment
