SURROUNDED BY THOUSANDS OF WILD MONKEYS ENTERING SACRED FOREST (Bali, Indonesia)

Right as we were entering the sacred forest, we were immediately surrounded by thousands of monkeys! They were EVERYWHERE! They were not only the cutest most playful creatures we've ever seen, they were sneaky little kleptomaniacs! Their slippery, small fingers tried breaching bags, pockets and purses in search of food! The Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali is seriously one of the coolest experiences ever. Over a thousand monkeys call this place home. As we walked the paths we saw big monkeys, baby monkeys, moms and dads, families, it was truly incredible! The absolute best part was getting up close and personal with them! Afterwards we dropped by the Tegallalang rice terraces, before heading back and cooling down in our epic pool! What a day.

Be aware that those monkeys at monkey forrest Ubud are fed by the staff and are relatively unharmful. For instance at Uluwatu or Besakih the monkey are more aggressive or trained to steal (yes, trained to steal!) sunglasses, flip-flops etc. How adorable those monkeys alike, they are still wild animals!

Love Bali and SE Asia, but I draw a line with monkeys (and elephants, snakes, bugs, etc) - lol, Geckos are cool keep bugs away but cover your food which could accidentally catch droppings.

There are several monkey kingdom across bali's jungle.. but each community never goes out of their origin area. Seems they are understand the border rules between kingdoms 😃 Its amazing

Love monkeys! Especially southern pig tail! The babies are so adorable! Watch out these monkeys steal your belongings sometimes! I want to go too monkey hill in Hong Kong! Loved the monkeys!! If any two people would love playing with monkeys it's you two!! There was some film showing all the statues and shrines in the forest, and it so looked like stepping back to prehistoric times. Great day! Happy New Year Bali style!!!!!

If you are ever looking for a special adventure in the USA, check out the opportunity to go to Mount Washington Observatory. They have had people come to spend a week and cook for the crew that care for the weather observatory. You would have to learn high altitude cooking but it is a neat place to visit.

I think you two overall enjoyed the Monkey visit over the rice fields much more so because in reality I found the monkeys to be more entertaining than the rice fields which was nice but a little boring the monkeys on the other hand had excitement and enjoyment. I also think your villa is very interesting although I would be a little nervous having those animals near the ceiling and that includes the humongous geckos that you mentioned in your villa.
