Surveillance Footage Shows Accused Teen Killer Fleeing From Home After Shooting Mother

As the trial against Carly Gregg continued on Tuesday morning, the state presented security camera footage from her parents' house, where she is heard screaming and then running out after allegedly shooting at her stepfather, Heath Smylie, following the brutal shooting of her mother.

Fifteen-year-old Carly Gregg is accused of brutally murdering her mother and attempting to murder her stepfather in March of 2024. Screamed because he got the gun away from her, and she wasn’t able to go through with her plan of killing him too. Or, screamed so she could blame the murder on him if he died from the first shot. Her alibi would’ve been that he killed his wife, tried to kill her too and that’s why she screamed and ran, before shooting himself.
