That's not a chain, it's a tape. Surveyors used to use literal chains that had links of known distance.

I tell you the truth. Nobody's alignment of practice that anymore. Calculating the factors for temperature distance et cetera Sounds good in class but out in the field. There are complaints that you're taking too long. It's more about the money than it is about the reputation of a survey company. The company's nowadays do not want you to be spending time doing the things that you're doing right now on the video, it is too time consuming. It is not like back in the old days when for an accuracy was key, now these days. How fast can we do the survey so we get paid?
