For speedrun purpose, the upper limit of Survival Endless is 6s per wave, and Cob Cannon is the only way to achieve it

Does anyone realize the imitater (gray) or normal plants (white kind of) don't change sun when you plant them, but plants that can be planted on other plants (purple) change sun?

yeah in survival endless they charge you 50 more sun the more type of upgrade plant you have planted, as an effort to stop you from playing indefinitly probably.

In Survival endless no plant is necessary after the setup is completed, in other categories it would probably require a restart with a 12-15 second time loss
