You ever think your videos inspired one to be more active, "get out in the field, and have some fun" you would say? Well it has. Ive been busy living my best life sober and gettting out in the field. You can look up to someone, have an idol, even at 30 years old, through a screen on a phone. You saved me from a boring life at home with an impending alcohol fueled wreck. This is my peace channel. My feel at home channel. Something i love and relate to. I have no money to give to support this channel but i have a comment i want you to see as one of your fans to make sure your aware your effort doesnt go unnoticed we have learned valuable knowledge on survival yet most of all, my favoirte sayings "thats what im talking about right there" and "look at that bacon frying up there" 3Keep on going Shawn. Many thanks and apologies i havent kept up to date on likes and views as i said im living life not always in front of a screen. God bless to you and forgive any typos on this new garbage phone

Hey Shawn, great video as always. I made a few of those with a twist. I use the large size prescription bottles tie my knot on and use 80lb backer line, then attach 6lb mono for my main line for actual fishing as you were doing. Then if I want to target catfish or a larger species I remove the 6lb and tie a hook on the 80lb for the cats and rig it like you did for passive action. And I have enough room in the bottle to keeps assorted hooks, weights, and floats, and swivels. I carrya couple of the auto limb line reels as well for additional passive fishing. I fish alot all over the south and always had good luck with these systems. Thanks again corp.

I like that this sort of thing keeps one busy should one find themselves stuck with nothing to do around a water source. Staying busy is actually a good survival mindset depending on one's circumstance. In the Air Force I was sent to aircrew survival school in Texas as part of my training and this is exactly what we did. I was the only one to catch anything.

A few comments. The first is that I always thought the SAK was a gimmick until I saw one used properly. Now I own a proper Victornox and use the items contained all the time. I also love the hobo reel, good stuff. Now the gripe. I never baton wood with a folding knife without it being in a 90 setting. Batoning a folding knife fully extended is asking to break the knife's joint.

Cool vid! More relevant and _very_ useful information! When baiting larger fish with smaller fish I would suggest using the guts of the smaller fish. The guts have more oil and a more aromatic in the water. I love bluegill - good sweet meat! Gotta catch your last week's video on the on the passive action! Also, Thank You for keeping the quality of your videos to the highest order. You'll come out ahead in the long run. I don't expect to unsub anytime soon! You definitely upped your game by ignoring the haters. Again, good job and looking forward to more super videos!

When I went to Mexico back in about 2010, we was fishing along boat inlet and a little kid about 12 years old came out fishing where we was and was using a plastic Coke bottle to store his line on and would cast out with his other hand. A plastic bottle has a wider base than a stick and will likely allow you to cast further and reel in faster.
