I was waiting throughout the video for the toy husky (sitting patiently bottom left) to start participating in the video. Finally, in the 14th minute he leapt into action.....)) It's a great video Dasha, you have such a very clear, easy-on-the-ear use of English - which I'm sure is great for those watching (to learn Russian) who don't use English as their first language. Like in the video, just learning a few key phrases in Russian (perhaps the alphabet too - which is easy to pick up) can make all the difference if you're visiting the country for the first time. Also, like visiting any country, I think the locals appreciate it, when a foreign visitor makes some effort (even if it's small) to speak or understand their language. Obviously learning a bit of Russian before visiting the country will give the visitor a bit of extra confidence during their visit, and help make the trip easier too. I think Dasha just about covered everything, whether you're visiting Russia as a tourist, or for a business trip.

Great video, exactly what I needed as a complete beginner. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. In England we call this way of learning 'Parrot Fashion' it is not disrespectful but describes the method perfectly, repeatedly listening to phrases and copying them like how a Parrot learns to mimic us. It is a good way to stay motivated and progress in learning a language. I have learned more from this video than any other on the Internet. More please Ma'am. Спасибо большое

This way of learning is good for those who want to visit a foreign country and don't want to get deeply into grammar concepts, etc. Thank you for your comment 😀 enjoy learning Russian

What is dative case? In this video you have mentioned about it.
@RussianwithDasha5 жыл бұрын
There are six cases in Russian: nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, instrumental, and prepositional. I will cover each of them in my future videos, or you can search on KZbin - there are many Russian videos.

Great lesson for us beginners, thanks. Are you a student or a teacher at a school? What are your job ambitions, your accent is and English is very good. I am an Engineer and the global technical field is the reason for my efforts to learn other languages. Oh, the phrase for help, would it be ok to say Помоги пожалуйста rather than Вы Могли бы Помочь пожалуйста?
@RussianwithDasha4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff! Thank you, I used to work in marketing, now I'm teaching Russian on Skype and making videos. You are welcome to also join my Instagram russianfortravellers. Both ways are correct. Помоги, пожалуйста is an informal way of asking for help, you can say this to your friend or relative. Помогите, пожалуйста is what you can say to a stranger. Also, вы могли бы мне помочь? Вы могли бы мне помочь, пожалуйста? just sounds politer. But, as I said, помогите, пожалуйста also a correct way of asking for help.

The difference is like in English: please help me Vs could you help me please
