I built this A frame a little bigger for more comfort, Ideally a lot more leaves would be needed but this held up to a few showers, I knocked my head in the night and some leaves fell haha. With these shorter winter days, getting enough time to build a one day shelter can be hard and tiring but fun and rewarding, was a chilly night but at least I remembered my mat this time ;)

A very different kind of forest from what we have in the western Washington state forests... we get conifers like D.fir, Firs, Spruce, Western Red Cedar...a few maples and alder in places... it would be rare to get broad leaf hardwoods...with all those nice leaves...we do get ferns and mosses in some areas and some and berry bushes/vines sized under story plants... downed wood is often wet... except maybe in the pine forests in fire season... I did enjoy the video.

What a brilliant camp Andy. Really loved this one. Everything about this has been brilliant. Are you going to keep this shelter and add more leaf litter. You have put so much effort In to this one, would be such a shame to pull it down. Was that a waxed canvas tarp you used as a ground sheet.? All the best to you and I hope you’re not out tonight or Friday. Very stormy here in Essex.

Lovely video as always. I have been watching a lot of debris type shelters and I was wondering if you put one or two poles horizontal on the outside wether the leaves etc would cover better? It's just they seem to slide down more on the bottom than the top if you get my drift. ? Thanks for your time.
