Survival Strategy "Do The Next Thing" - Day 25 of 30 Day Survival Challenge Canadian Rockies

With the survival Challenge almost over & our hammock tree fort almost done. The Survival Strategy do the next thing leads us down the mountain in search of blueberries. This was filmed in July so we thought maybe there would be some ripe blueberry at the bottom of the mountain. Surviving thus far on just fish and gophers is not the best hiking food. Sure you have a lot of energy after you eat but later it wears off like going out to chinese food. Too much protein and not enough fat.

Sorry for it taking so long turned out to just be a bad clip that was crashing my editing software and when i deleted it everything worked fine. One bad apple and all that. I had a very similar issue with a bad bit of video. I believe I ended up using DaVinci Resolve (which is free) to get around my problem. Definitely a robust piece of editing software with a very similar workflow to Final Cut.

"I'm watching every episode" as I love to see what gear you guys use the most. It's a way or means for me to evaluate need for certain items of gear. One item I noticed you carry on the front of your Hidden Woodsmen pack is a Gerber Strongarm, however, you haven't used it. My favorite two knives are my Gerber Strongarms, one black and one coyote. The most used knife in my load out is the Mora HD as I find it's the best "kitchen" knife ever. From filleting fish to steak to prepping veggies for stir fry the Mora is just awesome, holding its edge brilliantly cut after cut. The more I look at your orange Hidden Woodsmen, the more it grows on me...gonna have to order one. The size seems perfect for overnighters...being a caretaker for my wife limits my time out in the woods. Although she is confined to a wheelchair she's feisty and takes care of herself pretty much. I just worry about her falling and hurting herself. I'm really enjoying watching you and Ovens and the area you've chosen for your adventure is incredibly beautiful. BTW you got me started in using a sling shot again and I have a small collection from Simple Shot. I set up some targets next to my Hobo Camp, a gear testing area in my backyard. During this crisis I've spent nights out there either in a hammock or one of my tents. I cook, make coffee as though I were out in the woods. It's a nice break from staring at walls or the screen of my desktop computer.

When I was a child, raised by my grandmother, she always knew where to find me, when my brothers and I were to go spend a summer with the other grandparents, my grandmother “Nonnie” said “if u want to find the boys, look n front of the TV, if u want to find Joy, look n the trees. If I had that fort as a child, I’d never entered the house except to eat 😃👍🏼.
