Heating oil is essentially unrefined diesel. It’s just a bit cheaper than refined diesel, so anywhere from $3-$4 a gallon depending on the day.

@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska2 ай бұрын
@@simonemoreno4324 nope. We condition them to adjust. They will cuddle if they get cold. 💕 They need lots of bedding, warm water and extra calories. That helps their outsides and insides stay warm. Goats stomachs act as their internal heaters. When they digest their food, they make lots of heat in their tummies. So we always make sure they have lots and lots of food in the winter.

I sonr know if yall have made a video on this or not but what if you need meds every month? Like BP meds or somthing like that? How do yall navigate that. Also im asking bc my hubs had cancer in 2020 and now has to take meds every month, without them he can die.
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaska2 ай бұрын
@@hermithillfarm1123 we are pretty fortunate and don’t need daily medication. Alaskans in general tend to plan ahead and stock things they need. Some people live in places where the roads/rivers are impassable for months at a time. We just stock up.😊

Why don't you have siding on your home? It will give you and additional layer of protection against the elements.
@FlatTireFarmHomesteadingAlaskaАй бұрын
@uldissilgailis8934 lots of people ask us this question friend. Siding is an aesthetic addition to a home; in reality, siding adds between .5 to 1 in R-value. In Willow, Alaska we use R-50 the roof alone. So siding adds negligible insularly qualities and is a very poor exchange for its expenditure . We also don’t have sheet rock, kitchen, cabinets, railings. Lots of things. Ha! thanks for watching
