Something else you might explain if using the standard cockpit is that it's atmosphere tight. In the beginning, this means that you're burning valuable ice to breathe while you're inside it. Putting a vent on the side port of the drill, the rear port of the medium cargo container or on one of the ports of the connector lets you pressurize the cockpit with outside air and saves the ice until you find a supply. It's a cheap way to fill O2 tanks before going into space. It also gives you breathable air on some of the other planets where the air is too thin to breathe but it still has air. Great series so far, especially for new people and people like me, who are always looking for more efficient ways to survive.

instead of opening the G menu and clicking "new from current position" you can type "/gps [name]" and it places it at your feet. ALSO like to point out while you were explaining the built-in ore detector on the Hand Drill, higher tiered Hand Drills have a larger radius ore detection as well.

Ive taken to making my first vehicle is a jet bike using two full size batteries and a medium cargo to putter around and find iron nickel and cobalt. This has yet to backfire on me as the start pod already has 4 thrusters you can use so construction is relatively easy and cheap. It speeds up the process so much it's wonderful... Upthrust is very important though lol I've slammed into a number of hillsides because I'm going too fast too low
@noneyaonenoneyatwo28799 ай бұрын
The starting world I normally pick is pertam, so distances between ores or just finding ores takes much more travel sometimes so a vehicle that goes farther and longer on battery just makes it worthwhile

i crashed a ship once when i just built it, i had added an extra drill and even before it was "uneasy" in nature. in short i was comin back to base over 11km and fell out of the sky at 100 m a second because it didnt have the power to hold up a connecter and 2 medium cargo containers work of ore. one of the chunks of stone i was carrying flew off and struck my rover.

The large grid ore detector on a small grid ship does work, as I just did that a week ago. What I would recommend first is building the large ore detector on your base first, maximize the range and look to see if any ore deposits are 150m around and underneath your base. Just a suggestion. 😇🫡

In my version of Space Engineers I can't collect the survival kit without the medical components getting turned to scrap.. Same with Batteries.

Batteries you never could. Medical components on the other hand is very heavy. That 3 pieces of it usually takes up all your inventory space so its possible you were full and ended up accidentally grinded down the components after it appeared.

Solar and engine depending on your access to ice, turn the batteries to recharge and fire up the engines to charge them, once out of hydrogen, flip the batties back to auto. Of course if you have access to uranium, reactors are the best by far

Also with the wind turbines, put a block on all four sides on the second block below the top turbine, then you can add four turbines horizontally. Then you have added 4 more turbines that produce the same or near same output each as the top turbine. Now you have five times the output with minimal spacing. 😱😇🫡

Recommendations for new players: I highly recommend playing with scripts enabled. This will severly help new players. Automatic lcds to see base storage etc. PAM autominers are great and are worth setting up. Although try to make a vertical Pam miner as it will be much easier to use if you are in gravity. If you have started on a planet with higher than 1g gravity then it could be worth using rovers over ships. 1g-0g will be fine for mining ships. If you started in space then a vertical miner is fine as you dont have to worry about countering the gravity. Just allow scripts for convenience and then try to automate as much as possible. If you have AI/player pilotable fighters on your base then you can place 1/multiple timer blocks on the base with an AI defensive block that triggers the 'trigger now' on the first timer block. Have the timers enable the ai move and ai offensive on the fighters and then decouple them. Then you will have a base that automatically deploys ai fighters. This can also be applicable to large ships with small fighters on it

Just subscribed. You make good videos, but I haven't subscribed until now because frankly the language in most of your other videos is a bit much. It's not that I am shocked by it, just that it's jarring and takes away from the useful things you pass on. I play this game and others with my grandchildren and while I won't share your videos with them, I learn from you and can pass it on to them. Thanks for moderating.
