There is a unique garrison in Kingston called 'Cockburn pen ,where most of the gangsters or of Indian decent. You could go there and you would be the first to highlight such dynamic.You could also go to a middle class ghetto called 'Heavendale .Bless up

It's disappointing that a lot of "traveller" youtubers are going to the garrisons and almost making a mockery of their lives. It's also not the only living conditions Jamaicans live in, but obviously, it's what they use for views. Forgetting that in paints a very negative view of Jamaica because they are not interested in the other parts of Island life. It's not all garrisons and tourist areas. Please, someone, be original in your videos of Jamaica 🇯🇲 🙏🏼

You don't have to go to the tourist areas, but you don't have to always go to the ghetto areas ether. Also stop always looking for dangerous places, because a lot of these so call ghettos have some of the nicest people in jamaica, and some of them are actually safer than a lot of the richer areas. Trench town is especially safe.

Don’t listen to the naysayers Blackman! You are doing a tremendous job in showcasing the true look of Jamaica and this is just 1 aspect that even the same Jamaicans are “Ashamed” Of. They only complain because they are ashamed of their identity! Regular breathing, law abiding citizens live in garrisons as well, they all need a “VOICE” and attention which you are giving can help them in the long run. This is how people are really living in Jamaica and they all want to get out! . The GOVERNMENT OF JAMAICA doesn’t even visit these places! These people are often time “Left Out” and kept away from society which is unfair.. life is not only pretty and about beaches and sands! Most Jamaicans can’t even afford the beaches there! TALK ABOUT THAT! We Jamaicans Love You Black Man!

What a lot of nonsense! These people aren’t struggling. They can get jobs if they want. Jamaica has an unemployment rate of only 6%. Jamaica is classified as an upper middle income country by the World Bank, although these outsiders want to continue with their negative narrative of ‘third world’ etc. Small parts of these areas have alleyways but if you look in the background you see normal homes where normal working people. Portmore is very developed and has many offerings for tourism and entertainment and is known for: the only horse racing track in Jamaica, Hellshire beach - world famous for its fish and festival, Fort Clarence and Waves beaches - home for beach parties and Two Sisters Cave among many other natural attractions. There is a big shopping plaza in Portmore with a shopping mall and other facilities - Yet he shows a little alleyway and call it ‘Portmore’!
@cleo631007 ай бұрын
Portmore isn’t what he’s featured! The Portmore Mall was opened in February 10, 1993, by the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) with more than 60 shops opened and ready for business. It was the only mall in Jamaica that was fully air conditioned. The mall then contained a nightclub, a movie cinema, two record stores and other stores. Portmore is renowned for a lot more than this little alleyway that he featured!

Yes Blackman and Nigel great one and the Ackee is a fruit that can eat without cooking but many Jamaicans don’t know or they are just afraid of the poison myths. Once it’s open like the one they picked for you,then clean it up as he shows and wash and eat. Once the Ackee pod is open naturally on the tree,the poisonous gas escape and it’s ready for consumption.

I concur His headline is pure sensationalist with him saying he hopes he won’t get shot He’s literally walking around a garrison with 10 or so men - half on the phones It’s the second time in days got some artist to give a few bars of the song and predictably it’s slack lyrics . The garrison is not just about music Where we’re the heartbeat of much of these areas - the patrichial mothers and grandmothers that keep things together Sorry i just find it highly predictable nothingness that lacks any depth Perhaps the heartbeats of the community have rightly figured his negative gaze and tags lines “ surviving the most dangerous …, blah blah .The problem is also his guide / driver does not reside in these areas
