I travelled from Leticia, Colombia to Iquitos, Peru for 3 days on a Cargo ship on the Amazons most notorious smuggling route!
The Amazon River is a superhighway. In an area with no real roads, the worlds biggest river becomes the main transportation system for all types of goods! I traveled on 3 days on a cargo ship up this super highway on perhaps the worlds smelliest cargo ship!

I would say that people are somewhat distrustful or find it difficult to open up to strangers. I think that in other countries like Colombia or Brazil, they are more open with foreigners. In Peru I think that in some cases you have to earn their trust, especially when some people are from outside.

I traveled to Iquitos by river from Coca in Ecuador back in 2002. After passing Nuevo Rocafuerte into Peru it was on one of those riverboats. I don’t remember how many days it was on it, but it was very crowded and stank of pig shit and diesel exhaust.

Around the 1:05 point, you say "surveillanced", but the correct past tense form of the verb is "surveilled". You turned a noun into a past tense verb. Nitpicky stuff, but I'm an editor by trade, and I tell you not to be a jerk, but because I think your channel is great and I want to encourage you to get your eloquence up to where it better reflects the impressive nature of the travels you are pursuing. Get the Bryan Garner's Modern English Usage app or book form (but the book is too massive to travel with). Study the F out of it, read a bunch of 20th century and earlier literature/essays, and you will be formidable.
