Madison WI local here, poor guy must of got into town and went to the first urgent care he seen on East Washington ave. Theres no ERs besides at actual hospitals. Urgent care is where you go for strep or a broken arm if its a clean break maybe.

I’ve technically been shot with a shotgun. But, it was cold (pheasant season in November) so I was bundled up in heavy Carhartt and we were far enough away that we had just enough time to turn around and the only pellets to make direct contact with bare skin were the few to the back of my exposed neck. Thankfully, none of them actually penetrated the skin; couple barely broke skin/welted bad enough to kinda bleed, and they stung like a sob. Then for about a week after, it looked like I had a herpes breakout on the back of my neck…

I feel like it's a redneck ritual to be shot with birdshot at least once. I took a shot to my back years ago while out hunting and didn't even realise I was actually struck until a bit later considering we were _deer hunting_ , so I genuinely thought at that point I got hit with tree bark shrapnel or some shit considering both the distance from the idiot meaning the shot didn't really hit all that hard -- and the fact no one is hunting deer with birdshot. It was on me for wearing a black hoodie at the time so nobody noticed I actually did get peppered and it did penetrate enough to burrow into the upper layer of my back meat. At the time all it really did was vaguely burn an itch, like I got bombarded by a pack of mosquitos, so I kept rolling my shoulders to try and shift my clothes enough to itch my back. Then I noticed "oh, I was actually hit" because a ball bearing worked it's way out and dropped just right to roll between the back of my pants and nestle right in the crack of my ass. Come to think of it, we weren't even actively hunting or stalking, but literally just walking to our spot. Long story short, I decided to no longer hunt with that guy.
