I just now realized that when Chris yelled "safety is on" if it wasn't, he still wouldn't have been able to fire because in the video time-line 5:40 the gun Chris had in his hand didn't have an ammo cartridge because in the video time-line 3:48 on the left of the screen, when Jeff picked up the rest of the weapons, one of the ammo cartridges fell out and he never went to get it, just didn't know if anyone else spotted that.
