@twitlov It's a preserved/canned form of pork preserved in Sodium Nitrate. It was created as a way to ship food that would last a long time to soldiers that were on the front lines in World War II. It is definitely an acquired taste (it's commonly ate in the Appalachia region of the US). It can be fixed in almost any way (cooked, like a cold deli slice, etc)
