The Plaguebearer is a Neutral role with its own win condition, as well as an ability to transform into another role.
The Plaguebearer has one ability, which allows them to infect other players.
Once infected, the infected player can go and infect other players via interacting with them.
Once all players are infected, the Plaguebearer becomes Pestilence.
The Pestilence is a unkillable force which can only be killed by being voted out, even their lover dying won't kill them.
The Plaguebearer or Pestilence needs to be the last killer alive to win the game.

They clowned on Steve, but that was honestly crew's only win condition: skipping and letting the two living killers self-immolate. On four, with two killers alive and two crewmates (i.e. no jester, executioner or god forbid amnesiac), the only play is to skip. Voting out one killer just guarantees victory for the other (assuming they or a dead imposter sabotages). So Steve accidentally fumbled his way onto the only possible win condition for crew. It may not have mattered, but it was the best shot.

Everyone called steve an idiot. But if they voted gumi or ellum in that meeting they would have lost. Because it would have been a 1v2. Furthermore, the best play was to skip and hope one of the killers killed the other one.

I'm going to defend Steve here. Voting out Ellum on 4 actually guarantees that he loses because it would leave an impostor alive with the tools to win vs 2 crew. Steve's only chance to win on 4 was to vote Gumi or to skip and pray that Ellum only kills Gumi. Obviously he skipped for the wrong reasons, but I don't like how everyone else was acting like he lost because he didn't vote for Ellum. He even sussed Gumi in that meeting which was his best way to win. Again, his info was wrong, but I was really rooting for him considering the roles he was surrounded by. If they voted Gumi out on 4 and the impostors let Junk button (Ellum doesn't have a sabotage), Steve could have won! Oh well...

They say Steve's an idiot but skipping was the best chance of a crew win. Ellum doesn't know that Gumi is bad, so if he kills her, then the body is reported by him or Junk, then they can vote Ellum and win. But if he votes for Ellum, then Gumi just sabotages and wins.

Steve is the smartest but for the wrong reason. You shouldn’t really skip on 4, but in this case with 2 killers it gave the crewmates a chance to win the game by having the killers try to kill each other first, and then the crewmates either call a button or report the body.

They're saying he's dumb on the basis of he has Junk and Gumi hard-clearing each other for Janet's kill on four while he's hitting the button. There was basically no world in which Ellum wasn't the one who killed Janet, but he had it so stuck in his head that Gumi was imposter that round because of his transports that he gaslit himself into believing it couldn't be Ellum. A crew loss was pretty much guaranteed at that point regardless of who got voted anyways, but the fact of the round was that all evidence pointed to Ellum and he skipped.

Not only is it like everyone else said, that skipping on 4 was the ONLY way for a crew win. But Steve wasn't wrong to second guess Junk, and Gumi's hard clearing of each other because Junk said he saw Gumi in front of him for the end of the round. While implying he was with her long enough to know she didn't do it. But the problem with that is he also acknowledged he saw Steve first, who disappeared, then Gumi appeared. Meaning he wasn't with her for long, and at most Gumi couldn't of killed in last few seconds they were together, but Junk has no way of clearing her before that. That is until Steven did the only actual dumb thing he did in this meeting - right near the end of the meeting - reveal his role, and who got transported with who. While it's still possible Gumi just killed before the TP, and luckily enough in a way that Steve didn't see body, it's unlikely. But this information from Steve's perspective is enough to doubt Junk as Steve couldn't process it all quickly enough in the last few moments he had to vote, and considering he was already suspicious of Gumi, it makes sense to skip even if there was only one killer. But from viewer perspective, there's 2 killers, so it DEFINITELY is the right choice to skip. As it's literally crew's only win condition, and the dead crew should know that better than Steve.

How to get the fabled Ellum win with a neutral role: 1) Get the fringe Plaguebearer role that does not have an immediate kill button so you can't get caught for a kill 2) Play crew-like in the beginning of the game because you have no idea what the role does 3) One impostor kills next to 4 people and gets sussed immediatly 4) Report the body and look crew 5) Get miraculously saved by the transporter thanks to the weirdest timing transport a millisecond before getting killed 6) Report the body and sound truthful because you are describing a weird round 7) Get shielded by the medic 8) Become the pestilence thanks to the transporter 9) Get the weirdest timing transport putting you next to a killer as the kill happens and as you become pestilence 10) Report the body and sound truthful because you are describing a weird round 11) Completely mix up two characters and hard accuse a player that doesn't have a kill button 12) Get justified for your confusion because you are Ellum 13) Have the transporter never transport you again so that you don't accidentally kill him 14) Get the transporter to tunnel and hard accuse and eject your medic thanks to the weirdest timing transport 15) Spam kill on the impostor that got cleared for his own kill earlier right next the investigator 16) Miraculously not get caught by the investigator 17) Kill the player that was left alone with you at lights after everyone else saw you two together in that area 18) Get caught 19) Say your role out loud in the meeting but claim someone else has it 20) Have the transporter skip for you because of the previous sus on the remaining impostor 21) Have the investigator hide on reactor on 4 22) Have the transporter transport the investigator to you 23) Kill the investigator 24) Have the transporter camp admin instead of walking around and finding the body 25) Have the impostor camp lights instead of walking around and finding the body 26) Have the transporter transport the impostor to you 27) Kill the impostor

I do agree. I think it’s because in normal among us you have to vote at specific numbers and that used to be at 5/6 and 3, but with modded that thought has been shifted to 6 and 4. So him skipping went against the “standard” and therefore a misplay, hence it being a stupid play. However as you’ve pointed out it was the only way for crew to win. So although it was strange it was the correct way. His following moves were questionable though, bc if he had hid with junk they would’ve had a chance. I don’t think it’s salt though as it wasn’t just DD and Gumi saying that, I also heard Junk and a few crew mates as well call him stupid so I don’t think it was because DD and Gumi didn’t win.

Well, Dumbdog was Gumi's partner, so he had a vested interest in her winning. He was calling Steve dumb because he failed to comprehend that Ellum had to be a killer based on his own transportation and subsequent button and didn't want to vote on it. He even concluded the meeting by saying "Well, I don't think it's Ellum" when it had to be. The rest of them didn't really care about whether crew won or not, they were mad that Steve couldn't understand why Ellum had to be bad. This lobby values bad guy wins above crew wins most of the time.

Maybe you could argue her kill cooldown wouldn’t be up before the TP but that’s a very difficult thing to be confident about in-game Also, Gumi was way more impostor than Ellum from the previous rounds, Ellum’s stories were all real and convincing. I agree with the first comment. I think you just have to try and do something that an actual imposter would do, and they barely hide there. Stay near bodies, vent in front of others discreetly or hide in them, lie about your round, try to emulate how you talk when you're imp. You just generally have to emulate imp behaviour, not actually be a "jester" and do dumb things.

If you’re specifically referring to the confusion around the Plaguebearer role, I’m like 99.9% sure that it was their first time using it. And it’s _easily_ one of the most involved and confusing roles there is, what with infecting people and becoming Pestilence. (Though I agree that it’s not _that_ confusing.) Now, when it comes to any of them not fully understanding other roles in other games, I would say that it just comes down to the fact that _most_ of them only think about Among Us _as_ they’re playing it in morning lobby. And with so many roles, those folks probably don’t really know much about the ones that they rarely ever get. Having said all of that, and while it doesn’t really bother me all that much, I totally understand _your_ frustration with it. Anyway, that’s just my two cents!

No one would bat an eye - steve was giving so many hints he was Transporter the entire game b) I have yet to ever meet someone who values a Crewmate win more than an impostor win. Even less likely for Gumi when you hear how excited she is to kill people and play impostor - it’s not like she doesn’t like the Impostor role.

Also I would like to add that, because winning as crewmate and winning as imposter use different skills, that means that cheating as crewmate and cheating as imposter also require different cheats. So all the arguments trying to compare the two ( on BOTH sides of the argument) are pretty unconvincing. Indeed, what if Gumi is just good at reasoning but bad at [not kiiling in front of people and being instantly sussed] ? But also what if the method that Gumi uses to cheat is one that helps in crew games but doesn't in imposter games?
