1:58 “Planetside 2 has ruined all other games for them” This is so true. For the past seven years no other shooter or MMO has held my interest for long. I’ve tried warframe, destiny 2, elder scrolls online, battlefield, and overwatch, but they all feel empty, lacking, small, or too simple to ever come back to. I will play some master chief collection on PC for nostalgia sake, but form my first 10 minutes of planetside being dropped into the middle of a giant battle where every person and vehicle was an actual human being, I was hooked. There is no other game like planetside and I can only hope that in the future that will not be the case.

I can’t believe you’ve actually put into words what I’ve been feeling, I used to love Paladins, but I began to see it as this endless cycle, of match after match with no end goal, because once you have all the champions what’s the point in playing? It’s the same in over watch, I’m playing, but for what? I can play some BF 2 with a friend, but I’d never play it alone because it’d get so boring. One could say the same about plantetside “oh it’s just fighting the same war over and over you don’t feel like you win when the continents just reset” but you do. It’s not a canned 5v5 match for victory, it’s a combined effort of hundreds of players to capture bases and complete an overall objective, and there’s so many ways you can help achieve that. Ground, air, stealth, support, infantry, and within those categories many ways to tweak and change your tools, nothing is ever exactly the same unless you choose to play the exact same way with the same weapons. One game I can still play is R6S, because it has a high skill ceiling, and learning how to master the operators you have and exploring new ones is intriguing

Man i've been waiting half a decade from when i first got to play Planetside on my brothers PC to grind up money for my own PC to be able to play Planetside and it feels quite unfortunate how the game shrank in the meantime while i couldnt play it, from when i first looked at it. @@CMDRCyrious oh and talk about taking sponsor, watch out from the scam, there are quite a lot of channel have been scammed and end up with their channel get hacked already (and lost, for example 'Astartes' channel, at least after 1 month youtube help get back his channel now, although they should have done so right after that day instead like 1 month), I remember it mostly by make the victim click open/download the mail or similar, so careful, and it seem the 2 step-authorise from youtube don't really help do their job at prevent it

Funny. Right before I watched your video today I played PS2 and I surely have around 5000 hours in so far. And what happened today? Biolab fight on Esamir. NC has 96+ pop with almost 70% and they cyriously camp the one single TR spawn room for about an hour without attacking the next base. An hour later we take back a base two steps away from our own Warpgate and some NC guy is like "they can only zerg bla bla". You see, some things dont change after 5000 hours :D

I was there when the vulcan had its original skin, the enforcer was a single shot weapon and the magrider PPA was just a shorter sahron. I was there when single-use-camos where still a thing. Wow cyrious your intro this video nailed how I feel about Planetside franchise. I played planetside 1 till planetside 2 beta launched. I'll come and go from planetside but always come back. I'm spoiled with this game. I change my play style constantly. It took 7 years for me to discover the shotgun shitter ambusher combo and boy am I loving it. I play squad play alot and my kdt suffers alot and is only 1.3 (Pyre on Emerald) . I love the hate tells saying I'm the 1k shotgun shitter. Play what you enjoy playing and make content on it. You are a good and informative person on planetside and I'm sure that will translate well to other games. If you ever find a game that replaces that itch for planetside, let us know!

I've been playing since planetside 2 when it came out on console and always keep coming back to it for those special moments where chaos reigns supreme. The haze of a 100+ player fight for territory is awe inspiring to say the least with my best moments coming from those last ditch efforts to win an alert. I really hope they start to update console more often so one day we can stop playing catch up and enjoy the game to its fullest extent like pc.

My Atrus2g main has 2k hrs, 3 out of 4 play sessions I'm complaining in /yell about bugs/cheats/server issues etc. The fun is evaporating as I've played since 2013, but there are still moments of brilliance. I'm 99% wielded knife infil, keeps the challenge high though it's a high risk low return playstyle. Will stay engaged in your content irrespective of the title, the community stands in your debt for the updates/tutorials/game analysis; especially since Wrel joined the Empire. Hell, might even help us find some new games while PS finds it's way fwd :)

I'm a PS2 Vet. I kinda stopped playing this year. I still have the game installed. I still bought stuff this year. But I mostly started follwowing passivly through your content and reddit. So I know what's up. But in my opinion to get this game really back on its feet you need a major investment on the scale of PS3. I've done everything in PS2. Been there for everything. If they release a new continent I will try it out. I will be there for updates. But unless you make add some MAJOR stuff I don't see PS2 becoming my main thing anymore. You see the people leaving and I have to decide whether or not to keep the Cobalt Discord Server open. We need PS3. We need a fresh start. Get old players back and new players coming because the press is talking about it again.

Planetside has permanently changed how I view video games. The genuine challenge, the innovative FPS mechanics, the scale and sense of individuality. I can't help but be critical of video games now because of this game, to the point where Planetside 2 doesn't survive most of the scrutiny. It has woken me to how bad and not satisfying most games are these days. I have gotten to the point where if I can't play Planetside 2, I don't want to play any game on any platform. I'm waiting for another game of PS2s quality without its shortcomings to come along so I can lay this game to rest. My fear is that no game, other than the genuine Planetside sequel, will do so. I'm not ready to give up video games yet. Don't get me wrong, this is still one of my favorite games of all time, if not my absolute favorite, but I can't ignore its faults and inconsistencies any longer. Not a great place to be.

I came back to this video after 5 and a half months. They did it. They pushed the game back into the second stage of hype. They released Escalation and revived the game. The Colossus update is tomorrow, and I'm not worried about it going wrong. RPG has regained my confidence. As someone who has only played for a year and a half, this feels like a new game. Some people talk of how it feels more like launch. To me, it feels like life was suddenly breathed into the game I saw as a barely living husk that was barely surviving.

I remember playing and watching this game on Twitch in 2013. I'd love to see concepts like this in the future but in a more interactive world. To me I'd like to call this Game mode concept Persistent World, other games have done it if you look it up. However, as you state the game potential, a massive playerbase is a must otherwise game updates will lackluster. Also it still depends on what the Devs are doing.

I think, and this is my opinion, the mayor problem is whoever is in charge of DBG, those CEO just want the initial capital they get from launching a game and then just.. barely care or find more ways to milk it. Maybe that is why Planetside 2 almost never gets stuff to "Phase 2". Heck the PS4 version is the biggest example, devs always say "we are working on PS4 stuff" and then.. nothing.. not construction.. nada. We got the Ant sure and the NSO stuff but.. that is it

I WAS THERE....until they added the deathcam and few people were left paying the game. Back in like, May last year, when they had that HUGE DX update a MASSIVE (check the population tracker) amount of people came back to play, but the game was in such a sorry state with latency and bugs, no one stayed long. That was a complete missed opportunity. That was the chance to really revive this game for a while. But no, instead they decided to put resources into massive failures like Planetside arena, or that map that AFAIK, is still not out or ever coming out? RIP, I absolutely loved this game.

This game risks losing player population. But I do believe that as long as no other game like planetside 2 exsist there will always be people playing it. Its just so unique atm and you cant find this type of gameplay and enjoyment that planetside 2 gives anywhere else. personally, I always find myself getting bored of planetside 2 eventually, but I always comeback at some point regardless of updates just because of its core gameplay.

Started near the end of 2017 from a friend who was from the beginning. Had to upgrade, most of the parts in my PC, am stuck with my i7 3770k CPU - thank god for Dx 11, I can turn on ultra-settings and go into battle without the game freezing! 1122 hours of gameplay and know-how unfulfilling the game is, due to lackluster game progression. Also, most do have 24-hour attention - so any new player turns around is next to nothing. Best advice, play a hundred hours then stop and play five new games!

I just had a thought watching your video, one thing that might make tanks better against infantry is making projectiles three times as big, bigger hit box, easier to hit. On a different note, I do agree that the robots didn't fix the fights, but I do think they made fights better. That said it could just be placebo on my end. sorry about the comment being of topic.

for ps its more important to keep critical mass then with other more instanced games and if feels like its surely sliping. even during primetime it feels like theres not that much going on. alt of the time i just launch the game super hyped... and then theres like one fight or your entire pop is stuck farming at one base so i just end up leaving after like 10 minutes. just let us switch servers with our chars fluidly, im not fighting with ns weapons and regrinding everything over just because its outside of primetime where im at....

So, what would you think about a ps4 server merge? Ceres (europe) is still going but has way lower population than Genudine (US), it may cause some ping issues but being from Spain and playing in Genudine I haven't noticed much difference so I imagine it would be for the best

PS4 servers can't actually merge. The way Play station servers are setup people that have a U.S. Account, just can't log into Euro servers and vice versa. I do think it would be good if they could move to PC if they wanted.
