Charlie had so much class how he presented himself after Jeff asked how he felt that Maria didn’t vote for him and even more so how he had to defend her on social media. The true character comes out when you lose.

Jeff has said in an interview, (paraphrasing) "Don't ask me if you can do something, just do it, otherwise I have to make a ruling when you ask and it's probably no." So he's all in for good television and ascribes to it being easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission

Ben has basically said in post exit interview that he thought he didn't have a shot and that he just wanted to be with his buds in FTC. Kenzie supposedly asked Ben to go into fire because apparently public opinion was it was Charlie's to lose.

43:17 See what I think most of these jurors wanted was not just their egos stroked, but as we saw all season, they wanted sole credit. They didn’t want to give credit to anyone else making moves, which Charlie tried to do (and not inaccurately, as he was making the best and the most small moves to get to the end). Voting for Charlie would mean they’d have to admit that they got played. Kenzie figured out that she just had to agree with whatever they already thought, and that made them feel all smart and important.

We totally understand if you want your summer of course, but I think us Survivor sickos would absolutely support some extra content from you guys between seasons. From the interviews today and hearing from Charlie, there was some obvious disdain from Charlie after Maria had promised him her vote. Also, Maria is doubling down that she saw the "fire" in Kenzie's eyes during the fire making challenge, but per Charlie, the fire making challenge took so long that he felt they were about to go to matches...so I highly doubt the "fire making" was the main reason she voted Kenzie and she really was a bitter juror to Charlie. So yeah, really disappointing end, even though I agree with Charlie on how he maturely handled the situation afterwards and gave Kenzie her due. Great season overall, post-merge was great. Some amazing characters and a deserving winner, and thanks No Buffs for all the laughs this season! See y'all at Season forty several. (God, I hate the bit so much now that Jeff leaned into it.)

I expected something like this from maria. The way she spoke down to ben and Venus, the way she made q and liz rock paper siccors. I hated it. Venus may be unpalatable to some ( not me), but you can't deny that she had some good reads, and her assessment of maria and that farce was spot on.

Caught the finale last night, held off on the reunion show, woke up hearing Maria didn't vote Charlie and that is one of the wildest decisions in the games history. Super happy for Kenzie, hands down best season of the 40's.

Winning fire should only be considered impressive if it is like Gabeler and it is a record/really fast fire, or you put yourself in fire and essentially call your shot.

So since Liz was allowed to interfere via help, then interfering via sabotage should also be allowed then in principal right? Like if Maria snatched the plank away from Liz and threw it off the damn platform or something? Or hell just destroying someones puzzle? Seems like allowing Liz to interfere in any way without repercussion opened doors to both sides of interfering with challenges (help/sabotage)

Kenzie and Liz convincing Maria about the Charlie vote was my favorite moment this season and it's one of the moments I could see how well Kenzie could play. Liz too. Wish Charlie had won but I'm stoked, Kenzie was my 2nd choice of the final 6. Soda was the player I was most sad to see get voted out.

Kenzie was deserving. The only hang up I have is that the vibe from everyone this season was all about making moves, dictating the game and building a resume. But In the end I felt the jury voted by who they liked more. Granted Charlie played more subtle, but could speak to being apart of moves throughout the game. Also the edit made it feel like Tiff ran the jury with the help of Maria

He didn’t know she was going to almost crack under the pressure. But no, up against Liz, Maria would’ve just found a different excuse to explain her vote for Kenzie.

I was in a reddit thread where we were discussing this and what we realized is that the planks could have different numbers of holes as long as production only threads the same amount of them. Then for counting, they could put fewer geckos to count on the puzzle pieces at the stations that have more holes, so everyone is counting the same number of things, just divided differently.

Yes but if the challenge comes down to the wire then the person who has more holes to count is at a disadvantage, marginal for sure but still could make a difference in the outcome.

31:01 Well that’s the thing, we only saw an edited version of her. From multiple exit interviews it sounds like Liz was actually pretty well liked by most of the cast. Kenzie basically said Liz got the worst edit of the season. I’m not saying she was liked enough to win. Ben was also really well liked and he got no votes.

Two winners came to mind when it comes to jury voting emotionally: Adam(crying about his superfan dead mother) and Jeremy (fatherhood and another baby on the way). So am not shocked when they appreciated kenzie's hustler tale and awarded her the win despite the very obviously more deserving Charlie. I am pretty sure that's the 'fire' that Maria was referring to.

Enjoy the Pod. One could say the only thing the producers had for Kenzie winning the game. was helping Ben out at night as they leaned into that 3 times. Q & Maria were both disingenuous with money ? as if going to base it on need, Ben's story and need was far greater than Kensies.

Kenzie stroked Maria's ego as she left and at the final 5 with both her and Charlie vulnerable it was without a question Maria was the target. She was targeted at the final vote of the season which since final fire making has been the vote to take out the clear favorite, since she and Charlie played a similar game but at the final 5 the conversation wasn't Charlie / Maria it was full on Maria. Then Charlie got taken to final tribal when she knew that unless she was the winner of challenge it was almost a guaranteed fire maker and instead of admiring his game and managing his threat level, she was bitter that a slightly lesser version of her own game in her eyes could potentially win to vote for him

Maria wanted to give a nice hairdresser about to start a family a million dollars instead of a kid from Manchester by the Sea who goes to Harvard. This isn't fucking complicated. People almost always vote to give a million dollars to the person they most want to HAVE A MILLION DOLLARS. Not the person who "played best". All strategy in this game revolves around making yourself the person who people most want to see get a million dollars. If you don't do that, you made strategic mistakes.

So you had a problem with Maria choosing Kenzie as sole survivor but didn’t have a problem with Liz helping Kenzie beat Maria??? Liz helping Kenzie was her down fall because she lost to her in fire. Had Maria won Kenzie would probably be gone and Maria would have most likely took Liz to final 3. Nobody looked at Liz like a threat like she looked at herself.

1. I thought Kenzie and Liz working together to get Kenzie to win was pathetic. Bad look for women. If you’re going to win, win off your own merit. Don’t cheat to beat a strong competitor. ESPECIALLY ANOTHER WOMEN! And the fact Jeff let that slide pissed me off. 2. All the crying this episode was annoying. I literally turned the show off because I was tired of hearing Ben whine. 3. Survivor is getting annoying with all the weaknesses of the contestants being the main focus. Ben talking about his anxiety and crying all the time was ANNOYING! Because everyone expresses their anxiety differently. Everyone on the island is going through it. Just because Ben is crying doesn’t make what he’s going through more important grow up. If you can’t handle it go home! 4. Liz was annoying. The fact she honestly thought she had a chance was a joke. 5. I just didn’t like the final group of 4. Ben slated by. Liz skated by. Kenzie was riding a lot of coat tails. And Charlie only made a couple of moves. But he pretty much hid behind Maria. I miss the survivor where hard work paid off. Not just voting off all the strongest competitors to give yourself a better shot. It’s boring. 6. The last challenge was boring in my opinion. They clearly had to make a less athletic challenge to give everyone a chance. Because lord knows Ben, Kenzie, and Liz sucked at the challenges.

I honestly disagree with number 1. Liz knew she was too far behind to win, and she'd rather bring Kenzie to the end than Maria. It was a bold and yet unique move that I respect. It's not about "winning on your own merit" to beat another woman. Screw gender. its about getting to the end with the best chance to win A MILLION DOLLARS for yourself.
