I think the video assumes that most viewers are fans so they already know the backstories. Even if these were to be included, they usually span more than one episode to make sense and require a hell of editing to crop out the relevant parts. Quite tedious I guess.

For old school survivor it is. Voting off your own original tribe members before the other tribe in the post merge can certainly be seen as a betrayal.

Kelly betrayed Sue. This is literally one of the most famous betrayals in Survivor history. It's part of what led to the Snakes and Rats speech
