Maddie played a Stupid Game. You NEVER go after anyone who has a Hidden Immunity Idol, when you can actually get them on your side to take out a much bigger threat. Survivor has changed so much that Basic Gameplay is T good enough to win.

craziest first tribal in survivor history. i thought for sure it was gonna be brandon or lauren. at least now the idol is out, and hopefully brandon can recover. i also hope to see lauren use her advantage later on as well

@@neobowler i couldnt disagree more 😂 i think jaime was playing poorly but everyone else was playing fine or well. -Brandon played that round well because he figured Maddy saw him get the key. Having a public idol is way worse than having a private one, so playing it at his first opportunity is actually a good use of it. Turns out that was always the correct play, and he didnt have to show his cards either. -I dont think Matthew cared if he was safe. I think he cared if he voted. SITD allowed him to avoid voting for Brandon, who he viewed as an ally. -Kane just got screwed over. He clearly didnt have all of the info but based on the info he had I think he made the technically correct decision. I dont think he's in a bad spot but hes not in a great one either. -Lauren did really well. She was outed as a potential liar but she held firm and didnt back down. She managed to grab an extra vote and didnt have to vote in a messy vote either. Now its more dubious whether or not she actually lied. -Maddy played suboptimally but I get her decision making. It was clearly a mistake to target the guy with an idol, as it wouldve been better to target Matthew, but she clearly didnt trust Brandon so I understand wanting Brandon out.

@@ow3wells moreso the heat and also brandon probably was still feeling exhausted from doing sweat the day before. The cast looked in shape to me, they just had 2 physically draining challenges to start and the tribe that lost immunith was the one that had expended the most physical energy.

Good premiere. Too bad about Maddy (she was a risky player) but she was gunning extremely hard for Brandon to go so I understand his decision. Crazy start. I'd rather see 2 tribals in a 2 hour premiere though (just like in 41). Will a showmance finally happen again this season? Romber 2.0? But the nerdy kind? haha

Ugh, so annoyed for Maddy. She was smart and wanted to play her. Jamie .. so bad and dumb. Honestly, I think he played the idol partly because of her. Maddy deserved better, definitely not the one who deserved to go there.

she played really hard very fast and she decided to go after the one guy who had the ability to be guaranteed safety with the idol. if anyone deserves blame its her tribe mates...3 people gave up their votes even though they themselves were safe. it left brandon with all the power. and he wanted her gone since she saw him get the idol, and the plotted against him.

And who knows, Maybe Kane told Brandon to play his idol, and to play his idol because the girls wanted to come after him. He votes with girls, cover up their alliance. Kane proves he's trust worthy and can get info from Jamie and Lauren. The more i think about it, Kane may actually be in a good spot.

Lauren was a beast here. Got 2 shot in the darks out plus an idol and has an extra vote later on. They know she has an advantage though. Lauren might go to the end. I have 1 more episode to place my bets on 1st or 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Even top 5 paid me $50 bucks last season. But I called 1,2,3, for $150. Not a bad friendly bet.

Why does Jeff say "second person voted out" when Maddi is not the second, but the first person 'voted' out? The first person out of the game was not voted out, he was hurt and had to 'leave' the game. What Jeff said was obviously not correct. Second person 'out' of the game, yes, second person 'voted' out of the game, no.
