Hi, I just got back from a colonoscopy and endoscopy. The results were completely normal. I have had blood in my rectum, unexplained anemia, severe stomach pain, constipation and based on all my Google findings, diagnosed myself with advance colon cancer. They found Nothing, not even a benign polyp. I wanted to share this because I couldn’t find enough of these types of posts when I was looking for answers myself. Sometimes the research we do drives us completely bonkers, wasting hours and days and even weeks assuming the absolute worst! There are soooo many other explanations for symptoms than the worst case scenarios & statistically, it is more likely NOT to have cancer than to have it🙌🏼 Unfortunately, I know this is NOT everyone’s experience and people are diagnosed everyday and have to walk the hard battle out but I wanted to be a voice of hope in the self diagnosis process. Get tested. Don’t ignore symptoms. But don’t assume❤️
@SurvivorJelena10 ай бұрын
I'm glad you went in to get your symptoms checked out! You're right, there are a lot of explanations for symptoms that don't include cancer, but you need to go in and talk with your doctor to find out what exactly IS causing the symptoms so you can start to try to resolve them. Those that find out it wasn't anything serious aren't posting as much as those who did find out something serious, so that's also why you find so many "worst case scenario" stories online.

These videos are absolutely invaluable to so many people Jelena. Whether they are going through it themselves or are supporting someone who is going through this worrying journey, your very generous decision to share so much detail will no doubt give more help than you can imagine. I say this not because I have had it myself although I am about to go for my next colonoscopy as we have a genetic marker for bowel cancer and I need regular check ups but because I relied heavily on KZbin channels such as yours during 2020 whilst I was caring for my beautiful mother as she had terminal cancer of her sinuses. The drs can give you information but it really doesn’t compare to another patient’s perspective. Hopefully I never have to refer back to your channel for advice for myself but I do have you saved for that very reason because you have such clear, concise but mostly non-scary information. Wishing you a fabulous, healthy, happy lifetime ahead for you and your family. Much love from Brisbane Australia, Amanda ❤️xx

Well you’ve got probably the best videos about this type of cancer, and a whole KZbin! I’m always searching for information from patients stories of what they went through just exactly like you explained not from me hospital not from a cancer center a person a survivor a cancer patient their true own stories that they record and put on KZbin! That’s what I want to hear that’s what we need more of an KZbin. So thank you thank you thank you Much for posting your personal story. I knew if I kept searching I would find a personal story somewhere LOL So by listening to your story and researching for cancer patient stories, I don’t have cancer or that I know of. But I know somethings going on and it seems to be matching most of the symptoms that match Colon rectal bowl Cancer in ovarian cancer. Cancer is huge in our family everybody had cancer from every cancer you can think of breast bowel stomach prostate lung bladder and melanomas cancer. Are all spread out through both sides of my family. Including my immediate family! Do you know what the real stickler is here? My husband didn’t have any cancer on either side of his family and not in his immediate family. But yet he passed away not long ago, pancreatic cancer. Thank you for this information. I hope more people post personal videos from their own home not linked to cancer centers etc., their own stories, with symptoms symptoms.

My case was rather harrowing. I first started getting major abdominal pains almost as if it was food poisoning then it would subside. That followed up like you had mentioned bloody stools with mucus. The blood was blackish red in colour. There was a lot of blood and getting worse. Then came the pencil like stools then nothing at all. I went 23 days without a bowel movement and lost 55 lbs in 5 and a half months. Had gone to emergency four times before they found out it was cancer. I figured it out awhile back myself but needed confirmation. This was eight and a half years ago and I've had major digestive issues since and had to figure out on my own how to relieve it because the medical system was either too damn stupid or they just don't care. I'm guessing both. Other than the surgery I credit myself on fixing most of my problems since.
@SurvivorJelena4 жыл бұрын

@@SurvivorJelena After four years of off and on diarrhea and digestive problems I stumbled across Betaine Hydrochloride. It's a natural low acid capsule that can be found at the health food store. Take 3 before every meal and 1 or 2 afterwards and you'll find it will help break down your food properly in your system. If anyone runs into that problem after surgery. Or has a diarrhea problem otherwise. Hoping you yourself doesn't have that problem.

Half the week I'm constipated the other half its diarrhea. The bleeding happens atheist once a week. I pass in a squatting position and don't push at all even when I'm constipated. When the bleeding started at 18 I had a colonoscopy done. The doctor told me he found polups but said it probably wasn't a problem and the state wouldn't pay for any more medical procedures for me considering I was getting out of prison a month later. I'm terrified to go get tested. I've just been assuming i have chrons. I've been hospitalized twice in the last year due to passing blood from both ends during flare up(doctors said I have no bowel sounds in those 2 problem spots. I dont have insurance or money to see a doctor and doctors here in Florida tend to be pretty heartless, if you can't pay they'll sue.

Yup. And this video furthers the fact that she got extremely good medical care and that everything was expedited. It took 4 years of abnormal paps before doctors would get a biopsy and order a copolscopy for me... and it was scheduled 4 months down the line once they did. It must be nice for doctors to RUSH you in for procedures and RUSH your samples in for confirmation. If most people were treated this way - many more would recover from these diseases and not die or suffer endlessly before getting diagnosed

Hello. Prior to your cancer diagnosis, did you ever have a stool test for colon cancer or any type of cancer test?
@SurvivorJelena Жыл бұрын
I did not have a stool test prior because I wasn’t at an age where I should have tested and once you’re having symptoms doctors want you to do a colonoscopy and not the stool test.
@janeb43084 жыл бұрын
Hi, did you have to be put under anesthesia, or did you choose?
@SurvivorJelena4 жыл бұрын
Jane B my doctor didn’t give me an option, I was just put under. I didn’t ask if I could be awake so I don’t know if that was an option or not.
@laland57523 жыл бұрын
Usually, it’s not regular anesthesia, not like if you were to have surgery. I forgot what it’s called but technically, they don’t put you put completely under. It’s just enough where you blink and it’s over! That’s the part I like about it. Haha. I’ve had 4 of them!

Can a 15 year old have colon cancer? I didn't experience having bloody stool nor any type of pain but my bowel habits suddenly changed a bit almost a month ago, my stool became a bit thinner and i don't know if i am constantly feeling like i have an urge to have a bowel movement, maybe it's psychological, idk. I want to go to doctor for a check but my mom basically says i'm talking shit. What should i do?
@SurvivorJelena4 жыл бұрын
It isn't common, but I have heard of a child as young as 11 getting colorectal cancer. I'm glad you told your mom about it. Maybe keep a journal on your bathroom habits and note daily if the stool is thinner, how many times you go, the urgency of the visits, and anything else that seems different. Then you'll also have evidence to show a doctor the next time you go in. Do you go in every year for a physical?
@maksici.57804 жыл бұрын
@@SurvivorJelena i'll keep a journal, thanks for answering :) so far it hasn't been getting thinner (though my stool can still be normal i.e. wider) and it isn't really an urge, my tenesmus is pretty mild, i just feel (or my mind is making it up because i was really scared to death when i heard that those symptoms could be a warning sign of cancer) something slightly strange in my rectum. about the frequency, it remained pretty much the same as it was ever before - 3 times daily. yes, i go in for a physical every year and so far i was really healthy, i don't smoke, i don't drink alcohol and i've been playing basketball since i was 11. once again i'm really glad you answered. :)

My brother was diagnosed with colon cancer at 25. They estimated that he must have developed it around 15 but nobody thought it could be cancer because his age. He was stage 4 by the time we found out. Never ignore those kinds of symptoms.
@SurvivorJelena4 жыл бұрын
I’m so sorry about your brother Shelby. You’re right, the symptoms shouldn’t be ignored. That’s why I encouraged keeping a journal of symptoms and when they’re experienced so you’ve got concrete evidence to bring to your doctor when you talk about the issues you’re having.
@shelbywillhite42194 жыл бұрын
Survivor Jelena I just mean that you should always be your own strongest advocate. If you’re having issues and you think something is wrong and the doctor won’t listen...find a doctor who will. I think it’s so easy to just listen and assume all doctors know what they’re talking about..but cancer is one of those things that gets missed a lot when you don’t fit the mold of what a cancer patient would typically be. I was talking to my doctor the other day about some bathroom issues I’ve been having and when I told her my stools are suddenly thin, she looked alarmed and told me to get a colonoscopy. I’m so used to being dismissed with concerns like that, that it freaked me out that I was being taken seriously cause I’m 29 and doctors have never acted worried at all.

I'm 19 years old. There's a blood in my stool it's very red and my stool color is yellow. I went to a doctor and she give me medicine and after 2-3 days of taking it, my stool back to normal there's no blood present. Then last November 5 that night I ate beef meat for dinner then November 6 in the morning my poop is very hard then after that I got constipated and I always fart. My rectum is in pain. I don't know what to do. I'm so scared.
@SurvivorJelena3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for going to see a doctor! It sounds like your most recent episode may have just been from what you ate, and the pain is a result of the constipation. Keep a close eye on what you eat and if you have more troubles. If it keeps happening and there isn't an obvious food that's causing it check back with your doctor.
