Your videos have been so helpful. I'm a homeschooling mom. However, we are sending our kids to school next school year, and I want to make sure I cover everything so my 1st grader isn't behind in 2nd grade.

Your Sunday videos are so helpful. Thank you for sharing so much information. Do you have your calendar available in your TPT store?

For the task cards, how do you check they are doing the work and not just clipping anything or looking at the answer on the back of the card? I don't think my first graders could work that independently. I typically have them work on something that I can check, like a center where they can show their work. I am typically working with a math group and I have other groups doing online math games, or centers that I can check.

Are you planning to make your digital calendar available on TPT?
@tasianoble5928 ай бұрын
I was going to say the same thing, you can teach counting on in the last box of the anchor chart with the number bond.

Thank you for another great video. My classroom is also using Math in Focus (Singapore math ) by Marshall Cavendish, grade 1. We only have work books. I try my best to find supplemental materials to help students learn the concepts.

Hi. I need an advice. I'm struggling with my 2nd grader. At school she don't finish the work and she says she don't understand but at home she works with me and almost all the time she understands and do the work. What can I do to help her or what is really happening with her? I hope you can bring me some light?

Thank you for the great ideas! How long does it take you to do the math warm up games? I always struggle with having enough time for a game as a warm up. Also for your task cards, how long does it take you to teach them how to use each task card activity. Thanks again for sharing your ideas!
@SusanJonesTeaching8 ай бұрын
Great question! The warm up games only take about 5-6 minutes - the same length a math talk warm up would take! Once I teach the game (espeically ones like quiz-quiz trade or memory) it's nice because I can just switch out the skills! The counting game didn't take long either because it only goes to 20. When introducing a new set of task cards, I have students sit in a circle on the rug and show them how to complete 1-2 of each card. Most of them are pretty self-explanatory and it only takes about 5 minutes before I pair up students and have them play on their own
