The reason why It's a Wonderful Life is considered a Christmas movie is because TV stations started broadcasting it every Christmas in the 80's to supplement the usual favorites of the season. And it just stuck

I loved Better Watch Out, it's one of my favorites

It’s a wonderful life is about benevolence,goodwill and it embodies the spirit of Christmas and there is an angel of course so it fits the bill it was also released on Dec 20th 1946. I think it’s set on Christmas Eve.

I love the OG Black Christmas as well. I actually watch Trading Places every New Year's Eve. Speaking of, just a suggestion for a video: maybe a collection of New Year's (Eve) movies. I don't know if there's a lot out there. The only other New Year's/non-New Year's related movies I've seen are the remake of Assault on Precinct 13, remake Ocean's Eleven, and cheesy slasher Bloody New Year. I googled them and there's actually more. I'm not sure if you have any of them in your collection.

@MoviesSue Oooh! I'm looking forward to that! 😁 Edit: Bloody New Year is more of a horror-comedy with a sci-fi twist. I was thinking of some other movie 😅

The ONLY ones I mentioned, that I didn't see on your list was *The Ultimate Gift* , *1998 Jack Frost* , with Michael Keaton, *the Frozen Collection*, Edward Scissor hands* , and *The Polar Express*, I know A LOT of people will say SOME of these don't count and thats fine :); I don't buy absolutely everything, only the things that resonate with me, but there were a few you mentioned, that I am going to pick up, maybe two or three; These are the Christmas Movies I have, I have Die Hard as well, I also have the Halloween transitional movie Nightmare Before Christmas as well, I also have ALL of Batman, so I do have Batman Returns as well, *Christmas Vacation*, *Santa Clause 1-3* , with Tim Allen, *Jingle All The Way*, with Arnold Schwarzenegger , *Elf*, with Will Ferrel, *Grinch* with Jim Carrey, I have all of the Grinch movies, *A Christmas Story* , *Home Alone 1 and 2*, the *Maricle On 34th Street* I have both of them, but I've never seen the original, I saw the remake in theaters though; I also have those old rudolph movies/collection as well, *Fred Clause*, *Deck The Halls* ,with Danny Devito, *The Polar Express* , the Frozen collection COULD MAYBE be considered as Christmas movies, but if we're going with the Die Hard logic, I guess you could even throw in *The Ultimate Gift* , I don't remember if they all have Christmas scenes in them, but i know the first one does, I also have *Gremlins*, I also have *1998 Jack Frost* , with Michael Keaton, also *Edwards Scissors Hands* as well.

Are the Frozen movies at Christmas? If not, they don't count. Edward Scissorhands is a non Christmas movie.
@mattmatt2417Күн бұрын
@MoviesSue Olaf's Frozen Adventure , is Christmas related, its more of a short though/I think its only like 30mins or so in length. There is a good bit of Christmas, in Edwards Scissors Hands, I kind of put in the category of Nightmare Before Christmas and Gremlins though, its a transitional movie, from Halloween to christmas, I also put Planes Trains And Automobiles in this category as well, its a thanksgiving movie, but its a transitional movie, in the sense of, after this movie, more accepted Christmas movies start to come into play, the closer to christmas I get. I know everyone isn't going to accept my methodology on this and thats okay.

There is one movie that I have no idea if it is on blu-ray or not. It is the Laurel & Hardy version of "March of the Wooden Soldiers" (1934), which should be considered a Christmas movie because it does feature Santa Clause. I have it on DVD. If it is not yet on blu, then I hope that the powers that be, will do a just restoration and eventually release it on blu and even 4K.

It's a wonderful life is considered Christmas because the ending is on the holiday. The first half has nothing to do with Christmas
