i love how her leap series goes completely with the music! it is this attention to detail that is unmatched by even the current standard of Russian floor. i was so happy to see her win, especially with a routine as beautiful and confident.

incredible! she was first artistic gymnast performance i saw(london 2012) loved her ever since. re watched her perormance many times and a lot time after i started to observe a gymnastics. she has such a amazing tehnique, perfect 4th position

rene ruiz Actually, I did mean the entire American continent. And I do know "America" is the name of the continent. I live in it. I also know that "America" is also an idiom commonly used to refer to people from the United States...so I don't know what your point really is. Mine was that Ksenia Afanasyeva displayed beautiful artistic gymnastics and that it was rewarded, hence why she received the gold medal. Please go troll somewhere else and pick fights where fights need to be picked.

Don't you guys think you're being disrespectful to others? I mean, it's OK if you would rather the beautiful, soft, classic Russian style; but gymnastics is not specific to one style, they're all different and there's no the best one.

*****​, I don't see any "poorly performed" skill. These classical gymnastics have great dance capabilities, indeed. But there's also tumbling, and it's where usually the powerful gymnast shine. But that doesn't mean a classical gymnast can't tumble as good as, or a powerful gymnastics can't dance as decent as. I'm sorry, I just think it's so rude to think one certain style/body line/music culture is better than the other. Sounds like prejudice!

What a clean routine, and she's not full recovered yet. Russia is so proud today. Imagine people, if Masha had done her job, all the events would have been Russia's.

Mausolo M Masha did her job! The silver medal on AA was the hardest to win from all of the medals! And btw, the medals don't belong to Russia, but to the gymnasts!

simozimo09 She did not do her job on the beam final where she had no competitors, it was all about mind strenght, and what you said is partially right, the gymnast is the first one who deserves the honor, but they have bunches of trainers formed in an ancient great school of gymnastics that has to be recognised, Rossya of course..

Superb to gain 5 tenths from the qualification score! I think with a few more squat sessions in the gym, she could easily add a full twist to that DLO...she's a complete floor worker but if she wants to challenge for Gold at Rio, she'd have to up her physical strength. Brilliant FX here though

Beautiful job. With that said, the music and choreography just didn't personally "wow" me like her 2014 gold title or her olympic floor routine. I think the music is very boring here and doesn't fit her style. I know she is coming off of injuries and her tumbling is the same as it always has been but this routine lacks that edginess she usually brings. And that tattoo GOOD GRIEF GEEESH! Sorry to say, but I think it really takes away from her beauty and femininity.

The things she has to upgrade is the coreography, to be Afanasyeva floor routine, it looks without the attitude like his floor in london, or the Worlds of 2011, but good work, the things maybe she has connect are his turns, and change the double pike for a full twisting double pike, like she done in Beijing. And certainly, with his amazing execution, she can challenge acrobatic Biles for Floor.
