Both are multinational companies. They can pass on the increase in input cost to their consumers thereby keeping their profit margins intact. Just see in the last 20 years what is their growth CAGR, you will realise that both are real Wealth creators. Colgate, Bata, Glaxo, Sanofi, Pfizer, ABB are all multinational companies.

Actually if you watch the Sales, Profit growth, Stock price CAGR for last 10/5/3 yrs in screener, you will notice that these are moving quite slowly. P&G still has better track record. The reason i can think of is, sanitary napkins are very specific, ladies do not compromise on choice because of price. Slowly when families will start moving in middle class bracket, and ladies starts going for Job....the sale will rise. For Gillette - only middle class use this product, but most in rural area with low income have seen using ordinary blades.....from multiple vendors. The barbers specially use very low quality blades.
