I Lost my husband to sudden death - he was 50 then and I was 48. Now I am 64 leading a self sufficient blessed life and currently in a relationship yet peoples questioning have not changed - of how did I survived then without a male figure and now that I do have a male figure around me I must be dependant on him. We would never do the same had it been the other way around. I agree with Sushmita that people expect a woman to justify her existence especially monetarily regardless of her relationship status.
