Peak power is needed for the start, but even with pro riders, the lap times of a 250's are often faster than the lap times of the 450's, and there is about a 15hp difference between them.

Interesting. The AER48 is the best fork I've run. Rides a little high but stiction is minute and spring rate changes are free. Curious about the rate change effect when riding though, compression adds heat but the subsequent expansion (JT effect) would negate that. Hard to believe seal movement could generate additional temperature that the surface area of the fork couldn't dissapate. I haven't measured before and after though.

Good vid cheers, Interestingly enough even Mtn bikes in the Enduro category 6" give or take (not downhill bikes) All MtN bikes, are now re turning to coil shocks in some cases, companies like Ohlins, Push Industries and Fox offer and have developed shocks and even coil forks for these bikes, with climb switches to make them pedal great uphill but still be kings of traction and heat dissipation for the downhills. KTM for instance have Air forks on the XC range but coil on the XC-W range, I ride both MTB and dirtbikers too, I'll always prefer coil on both dirtbike and mtn bike but I do ride air as well on my MTB bikes, I go with air with less than 6" travel, 6" up I prefer coil, it is hard to get a coil fork at the moment in 160-180mm range, Ohlins has just released the single crown RFX coil fork. Rest are still air! But when I can get my hands on one, pair it with my 11-six Push. Also Ti springs drop weight vs steel and I have always loved the feel of a Ti spring over a steel spring on my shocks, used Ti on my DH bikes, for me noticeable feel difference in a good way, sensitivity, consistency! Another often overlooked feature is cost of maintenance, coil suspension once setup properly which is its biggest disadvantage eg getting correct spring rates vs a air shock pump, is more inconvenient But once done, it's done, suspension is more consistent and allot less maintenance required, I hate putting a shock pump on my bikes before every ride, I have enough to do pre ride. Weights while important is way over focused on esp on a dirtbike unless you are pro level competing depending on what it's used for, of a Enduro what I ride I choose an Enduro bike, not a dual sport bike, so they are all pretty good these days, KTMs still lightest in class but others are catching up, TPI will add weight in 2018 to those models, suspension setup to me has always been the most important factor in man or dirtbikers, you can't out power to the ground effectively anyway if you have poor suspension/setup, engine mods other than poor components should be the first thing people should focus on or do, get it sprung right, then tuned/revalued if required. And I I see this out on the trails or track, people who want the power or lightest components, bling but usually cant take advantage of it, they would be better investing in proper set up, some skills and technique courses! But they will never accept this, It's always been like this I been riding since the 80s and I see it all the time, Occasionally I'll see someone who can really ride a big bore bike and use its stock power let alone modified peak lower, usually a shop owner but it's not the std.

Can you please advise as to what will be correct springs i need for 97 Zx7r i am running .05 extra light weight fork oil in them. I was told not to for get the gold actuator...?? I have been servicing my own forks. My name is Tyrone. An could one of your techs do video upon the inverted type of forks with your spring & valving done on Kawasaki set of forks for old school bikes from 1996-2003

What is he talk about? -it's so rare ppl ride on peak power? I've ride for 2 years on 450 and are on peak a lot, not all the time but that have to do with i don't gym and don't have the stamina to do it for 40 mins straight but alot. I hear this alot from the elite, but don't understand why

IvicaKX450 its much better to have a controllable powerband than peak power considering the rough terrain and long motos that beat the shit outa you

Yeah i know , but i only get pissed of ppl say only Pro kan use the bike to its fullest If you ask me thats not the case. and iam 30 so no 12 year old keybordwarrior

Ever been beaten by a 250F or 125? If so you aren't using all of the power the 450 makes.
