On the contrary it can give you a false sense of "security". She can be texting all day in the company's messaging program when she's at work with a colleague, banging in the parking lot during work hours, a quickie in lunch hours and without having to text anything in the phone. Long story short, people will find ways to cheat if they want to, don't stress about it, if you are suspicious etc that's another thing, but like going crazy checking her/his phone all the time to get sense of security is a waste of time.

Gentlemen, you just saved my sorry ass today. I had suspicions because of the strange behavior with her phone. Leaving it in another room, leaving it in her pocket, etc. I apologized for my request being inappropriate and did exactly what Paul suggested. I fully openly asked if I could click the selected contact and read. She would start lying, and within 10 seconds I would prove it. The next and the next, it was like a movie script. 5 rounds was enough for me. 8 years lost, the rest of my life literally saved.

It's a little bit my fault, a little bit my upbringing that all my life I can't give up the illusion that somewhere out there is some perfect woman for me. This one faked it a little better and longer than the previous ones. In truth, I believed that this was it. Fortunately, Sandman did his thing early enough in my life and I know that it's better to be dead than married. A girl who has genuine burning desire for you simply doesn't act this way, in fact they will go out of their way to try and show you they aren't messing around with other men. I recently had a girl offer to give me all her social media passwords if I commited to her, this was after telling her I'd rather just keep it casual since we live far away and that dating apps have turned me off relationships. I did have an ex who cheated on me back in my beta days, can't blame her tbh (hindsight). I recall vividly one afternoon, I just finished showering and she didn't hear me come out of the bathroom. She was doing something she shouldn't have been on her phone and she got a shock. I'll never forget the look on her face and the shifty movement of her hands, she didn't quite catch her breath before speaking either. I don't know in the U.S. but many countries in Europe have laws against this type of behavior and most of them have a bias toward women, this could be used against you in a lawsuit (Although being very hard to prove, you should never underestimated the anger of a scorned woman, and her willing to make you suffer) plus the damage to your social image if she starts spreading that you are the "controlling type". I think you only have two options: you are resourceful enough to get that info easily without checking her phone or you dump her because no woman is worth the trouble.

Love this topic. Not a popular public stance to say “check her phone”. Of course, we shouldn't want to or have to...none of us do. Trust, but verify. Liars lie...having a conversation around whatever issues is only helpful to a point. Don’t be a hypocrite....here’s my phone...here’s the passcode...have at it anytime you want. If that's not reciprocated...something to consider. Normally, it will be reciprocated at first. 6-months later when the spidey senses tingle a quick browse should not be a violation of boundaries if that's your understanding together. Of course, if there is an issue that comes from checking...just know it all of a sudden becomes a “violation of boundaries”...and a basis for you being “jealous or insecure”. The solution...if you find something from checking be willing to keep it under your hat for further investigation or walk without having that last conversation. If the boundaries are clear...and they're breached...having a conversation will generally only result in her getting better at hiding them. All this knowing that if somebody is going to try to hide things they're going to be able to do so as you're not going to going to become a part-time detective. My last relationship, my gf used my phone when she wanted and I used her phone when i wanted. We both had logins to each others instagram accounts. When a message would come she would tell me to check it if shes feeling lazy to get her phone from the table, or sometimes she would straight up say shes talking to NAME of friend. We didnt have anything to hide from each other. Because when you are together your focus better be on each other. Its that simple. You dont want to waste time not interacting with your SO.
