November 17th 1981 .... Luke and Laura's wedding day ... was 23 and livin in NYC and had my 1st wife hooking me into GH on a daily basis lol .. now I'm 62 and most of my lifestyle behind me but I must say this show took me thru some good times and bad in my life ... kudos to Gloria Monty for this beautiful piece of escapism

I was about to turn 19, and tuned in to the wedding with all my college friends in a jam-packed dorm. Anyone who had a TV - the lounge, a room, the housekeeper's little black and white, they were all being watched. They say 30+ million watched, but it was more. The amount of people huddled around TVs, on average, was more than 1 person. Think about those numbers!
