Yes, the little details are *so* missing now. The connections between characters who are not coupled are gone, too. The short phone conversation between Laura and Robert which was preceded by her talk with Claudia is wonderful. On the show now, if a character interacts with more than one person and is seen in more than one room on a single episode, it's a major departure from the norm.

What's intriguing about these episodes is that they portrayed characters of integrity. Luke, Robert, Laura were not looking to "cash in" the way many people do when acquiring fame or popularity. The characters wanted to be regular folk and pay their bills. We could all relate. Tiffany needed to dial it down a bit, and I think she eventually does - just a little! But her character is supposed to be over the top, so her desire for a little bit more was to be expected.

It's funny how Luke and Laura's return in 93 raised GH's ratings from 5.0 to 6.0 on Nielson's and around 96 when Guzza took over and rewrote and messed up L&L, the ratings nosedived. It was always Luke and Laura together which made GH the best. Otherwise, it's always The Young And The Restless.

Does anyone notice that Genie's left cheek looks like it has a little crease in it across the top of that cheek. I wonder if this is the day after she was in the hospital and was sneaked in to her dressing room to be made up, so as she said in an interview, "no one would see what a mess she was..."?

I prefer to think about how brave she was to get the help she needed. She's a great lady!

@@debrahubbard763 Yes she is. AG has said that everybody on the set was doing some major drugs back then. Gloria Monty swore she didn't know anything about it, but I don't think there was any way she couldn't have noticed. I'm so glad Genie got the help, it literally saved her life. Look how many former teen actors have been lost to drugs and alcohol. Even though I hated when she left in 1982 I understand why she had to. Plus, by leaving GH and getting clean she landed some really good primetime mini-series. Bare Essence and North and South were so good. Also, she met her future husband Jonathan Frakes on Bare Essence and started dating him during the filming of North and South. It is so ironic that he is tall, dark and very handsome in a Scorpio or Cassadine sort of way and looks nothing like Luke or Scotty, lol.

@@lisacarman167 Never seen this interview, but glad those who were on drugs were able to get cleaned up and live productive lives. It didn't seem to interfere with their work to the point where they would mess up or the audience were able to tell much of a difference back then.

@@JayeNicki My friend said that even though the drugs were in the dressing rooms of those who used, they mainly used at parties after work. While Kin (Scotty) was there he kept Genie away from that scene, but once he left to go to another show, she started partying with the older crowd. I'm not going to name names, it doesn't matter who was giving Genie the drugs. She got clean as did a lot of others. Some got clean off the harder drugs but turned to pot and alcohol, Genie got completely off everything and is a rabid tea drinker, lol.
