I think that it is hurt and pride... but also fear... he is so afraid of needing her again... the only time he is vulnerable and afraid is when he thinks she may reject him if you ask me... even in 08 when he said "Good you have your life back, what do you want from it?"..Oh my his face, his body language... was SOOO vulnerable. I think he is afraid, and mad, and prideful, and in pain. JMHO

I used to love Jeff and wasn't at all surprised that RDA went on to great things until I met him, his father and brothers at a family wedding and he was pretty rude to the bride and groom. It’s really disgusting Luke saying how Laura was never his yet he rapes her, pursued her til he cost her her marriage, had her running across the country in fear for her life, gets her to fall in love with him and when she finally slept with him he dumps her over a momentary mistake and plays the victim. What a cad he actually is messing with an 18 yr old girl like that. Nothing to like there. Laura would have been better off wiping him off her feet and moving on. But alas it is a soap opera and that’s not how it goes is it?

Why doesn't Luke hold HIMSELF responsible for Breaking his promise to Laura to be by her side and holding her hands the whole way so that she can deal with the pressures. They created this amazing love story out of the horror of rape and he fails her and blames her for the outcome of that failure. Well, this shows what Luke is, a man like any other.

And after what he did to her in the end before he retired, I wish Laura had never gotten back with Luke. But we would have missed that huge 1981 wedding that 30 million of us watched. She probably just should have stayed on the Cassidine Island and raised her son and forget Luke ever existed.

I don't watch later LnL though so I don't know what Luke did to Laura later...I can't bear to watch them ruin LnL more than they did in 1980...

@@lisah9709 The rewrites completely destroyed the history of LnL. In the late 90's they revealed that Laura had a baby boy with Stravos on the island and had left him when she came back to Luke. Since she didn't sleep with him until Luke had died in the avalanche the timing is not right. Luke "died" in January and Laura was back in November. No way did she leave a baby with Helena Cassadine on that island. Of course LnL ended up divorced. Then years later they revealed that Luke had an affair with Holly in 1985 and Holly got pregnant and gave their son up for adoption. Luke became a hateful drunk who chose Tracy Q over Laura. To be honest I was glad when Luke retired and we got Laura back fulltime on GH.

@lisacarman167 It's so ridiculous for them to propose that Laura would leave her own baby after they had written her character so differently from that in the beginning. In the beginning of LnL the writing matched real life much more so, the timing of the pregnancy would have been something they paid attention to. I really think everything started going off the rails when they returned from the summer on the run. It has never made sense to me that Luke would've reacted the way he did after their encounter with the reporters in the police station. He had told her, "we've lived with each other, we know each others strengths, each other's weaknesses". They broke them up simply because they were worried about ratings and they probably invented those horrible S/Ls you're talking about for ratings/money. It stinks! I wish the audience had more of a say in character direction etc..but we are an afterthought. It's about $$ and the demands of the producers and actors.🙃🙃
