I'm not sure it would definitely eliminate all need for chemical pest control. There's such a multitude of pests plus fungi and weeds. It definitely would conflict with fish health usually. So it either needs to work immediately and probably with a lot of manual weeding and other additional means. Maybe ducks are really helpful in additionally reducing pests and some weeds? The Chinese seem to use a combination of all three: rice - fish - and duck.

Maybe a way to separate the fish when extra chemicals need to be applied?

What type of fish are best for fish-rice farming also recommend number of fishes per sq.M?
