You did an amazing job. I just started turning my artwork into stickers and my first thought was "oh I'm gonna make them eco friendly!" no... its very hard. and I'm glad I found your video because it makes me feel not so alone as I literally scour through the internet searching for ways to make QUALITY stickers (ie I want something like vinyl and its not possible) that are also recyclable in its entirety because stickers DO NOT last with individuals, with planners, with bikes etc. WELL. SAID. Thank you so much

It is so difficult to find truly sustainable options, yes! I am really glad to hear you found this video helpful but I understand it does not offer the perfect solution for what you are searching for. If you find any other options, please share them in the comments for other artists interested in the topic to learn about! I am really happy to chose to connect; it is so great to hear from like-minded artists going through the same discovery phase/struggle! Thanks so much for leaving this comment!

This was so incredibly helpful - thank you. After going down various rabbit holes about outsourced printing vs buying an eco-tank printer, my mind was struggling to dive into the world of recyclable and biodegradable sticker paper for home printing. My searches weren't bringing me to the information I was looking for. But here you've put me completely on the right track. Thank you so much! Good luck with your eco friendly art! ✨💛✨

ECOENCLOSE Is a great company with stickers, boxes, labels, tissues are the real deal completely eco-friendly in the u.s. I used to order from NOISSUE but found out that it is not as environmentally friendly as I thought.

Yea I didn't realise vinyl stickers couldn't be recycled :C It made me really sad because there is so much of the page that gets wasted. I am going to start using eco-friendly paper for planner stickers since those are more disposable than the ones people put on water bottles and such anyway! I find it hard to move away from vinyl stickers for my die cuts though, as I think durability is quite important for stickers that are going to be on water bottles etc. But I think it's definitely one of those things where if someone is really passionate about the environment it makes no sense for them to also then use vinyl stickers! And knowing this information will make people think twice about their purchases for sure.

It is definitely a difficult and personal decision, and yes, paper stickers just can't do all the same things vinyl stickers can. So I can understand your reasoning for your situation! Still happy to hear you are switching to eco-friendly paper for planner stickers, each little step matters!

Thank you so much for making this video and sharing your research! I’ve been trying to look for eco-friendly stickers and it’s been hard to find suitable options. Vinyl often seems to be the go-to material, which I couldn’t justify using because of how polluting it is, it just wouldn’t sit well with me. So thank you for sharing, I’ll definitely look into the companies you mentioned!

Thank you! Yes, I want to share beauty without having a big negative impact, and when I researched „normal“ (=vinyl) stickers, I wanted to share this information and these resources with other artists who want to do this in a greener way as well. I hope the video does some good :). Thanks for your kind comment and taking the time to watch! ✨

Thank you so much for watching and leaving such a kind comment! It means a lot! I hope with this video in a tiny way, I can create some positive change. I see so many artists making stickers and kept thinking (after I learned about the impacts of them while researching the option myself) that it might be a small change if only one person makes it, but in masses, it could be truly meaningful :). That (and because the info was so hard to find) is why I decided to share this info!

I love this!!! Thank you for making this video. Def going to check those cites out. I've seen that Noissue is actually not that eco-friendly :/ But I haven't personally don't my research. Eco-enclose is amazing!!! I'm trying to go as much eco-friendly with my packaging for my small business as much as I can, but I fallen into the consumer "oh its super cute" mind set and bought sticker paper that is NOT at all eco-friendly. One step at a time, and I hope in my lifetime ALL companies will go GREEN!!
@HarmonyHardin3 жыл бұрын
Oh no! You are the second person in recent days to comment on this video saying that Noissue isn‘t eco-friendly :(. Do you have more info on that? I would love to share the info in a comment on this video as a correction to it, if the suggestion is not eco-friendly after all! Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

Hello again! I am curious if you have a video talking about sustainable printing companies as well? I'd looooove to do stickers one day but my artwork works better in 8x10 or larger prints. I've just learned about "Fireball" and I'm going to check them out but I thought of you to ask too =) Happy Springing!

Thank you so much for coming back to check with me! I do not have a vidoe (or extensive research) about the topic just yet, but it is important to me and I plan to create more videos focused on eco-friendly artist practices to sell your art. So I will definitely have one in the future!

Hi Harmony! Love your channel, it’s really inspiring me on my illustration journey. Will you be doing a video on how you started and drawing even if you don’t always know how to draw like research I guess. You mentioned something about persistence in one of your other videos. Thank you! Love that you are eco friendly! ❤️

Hi Marija, I can definitely add that to my list of future videos. What would be most helpful to you? Just “my story” of how I have improved since I started drawing in March 2019? I didn’t use that many resources specifically to learn how to draw, but could share what I did. Is that what would be helpful to you? If not please explain a little more :). PS: Thank you so much for watching and commenting, makes my day!

@@HarmonyHardin 🙌🤗 Yes! How you started? How well you drew to start? When did you feel ready to take classes? Why you decided to start? I feel stuck not knowing where to start. I’m reading “Finish” now by your rec, thank you lol. But knowing that you’ve just started and you’ve already done so much is so inspiring! Also, how you decided your style and narrowed your subject matter as a beginner. Basically your timeline hehe :) Hope that helps! Thank you in advance!!!! ❤️❤️❤️🌈

I will definitely add this to the list of future videos! For now I would say though: don‘t overthink it! I learned mostly by committing to drawing ca. 15-20 hours per week until it became a habit to make art. An artist friend at the time wisely told me (I had wanted to start with a beginner painting class) that if I wanted to learn how to paint well, I had to learn how to draw first. So I just tried to draw animals for a long time, just focusing on consistently putting in the effort. I will tell you more when I record the video for you, but I wanted to take the moment to let you know right away: don’t overthink it at the beginning, just commit to it, put in the hours (it does not need to be as many as I did - it needs to fit in your life and become a constant thing that works with your schedule and other commitments), and enjoy the natural progress that comes with practice 💕. I know it seems like a simple answer but that is exactly how I started. More to come! If you end up sharing your journey on Instagram or elsewhere, let me know! Would love to see and be a part of that.

Dear @curlsgalorre, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! I dug through my archives to try to find an answer for you, as I started researching this topic but dead-ended on the topic myself in the past. I thought however this link might be helpful for you, which is a discussion board where there is an explanation as to why getting green printing for gallery-quality art is difficult: www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/looking-for-eco-friendly-giclee-printer/ And then these specifically look at first glance like they might be an option, but I did not research them as deeply as I did the stickers yet: www.greenerprinter.com/products/posters
