Pre-setting the Blumat Sensors (Cap Dialing) - How to dial in carrots quickly and consistently

Beautiful, I very rarely get a flooded tray from one blumat carrot, but this gives the video tutorial for the previous discussion about setting the carrots before attaching them. I was not sure if you had used a cup of water or nothing at all with the tops when setting them in the way you had described doing it in the discussion. Cool video!

Was the soil brought up to moisture prior? Was that last watering for the purpose of getting a good connection with the soil?

The soil is watered in heavily before placing the Blumats into the soil to ensure an even starting moisture throughout the pots.

thanks, very useful video! after setting it up, what's the pressure differential per triangle for gravity systems and for mains pressure? I understand that at mains pressure 1 triangle is ca. 50 mbar, so 2 triangles means the plant is kept at 100 mbar; on a gravity system with e.g. 4 or 6 feet of head what's the pressure differential instead?

So it tends to land on 40-50 for 1 triangle 80-100 for two and 130-150 for three on pressurized systems. When setting up gravity 1 triangle is 80 and two is 130-150 so it’s best to set it at one triangle if using gravity and two on pressurized systems. Hope this helps

Depends on your soil and how you’re growing. Different mixes will behave differently.
