an absolute tragedy that so much of his catalog isn’t on streaming. such a unique sound and a master of his craft - he’s not only the definitive composer of the BERSERK series, but an all round genius. he of course gets recognition for that, but i believe hirasawa deserves praise from more of the general world of music and art.

it's amazing how Susumu Hirasawa is THE composer of Berserk. Regardless of this music, we immediately think of Berserk. I think this is the only manga that has such a loud soundtrack, too bad the adaptations are not up to par. But Susumu Hirasawa is there to make us love each of them. In fact I think Berserk is the only manga that has an audio adaptation, in quotes.

Susumu Hirasawa is such an amazing singer-songwriter. His approach is so fascinating; it is so "classically European" in his many nods to European classical music, harmonies and "epic bombastics"; yet at the same time, it is so Japanese. An absolutely fantastic and fitting combination!!! This guy is amazing and he derserves much, MUCH more international recognition! A real gem!

@HeilSol Жыл бұрын
Strange how complimentary the "European" and Japanese are. Or, perhaps not, though history proves me on that. (I say "European", because the place is vast with much more diversity of culture and thought than even Asia may boast. That said, what is "European" music? Though, I follow your meaning, and hear a bit of it, I'd assert Hirasawa is solely Hirasawa.)

+TheFuryLivesOn wow, i thought people stop listening to susumu hirasawa's song
That intro part is pure perfection, I love it so much. It starts off with that deep chanting then Hirasawa jumps in and catches your attention before dropping you off a sheer cliff into an ocean of sound. It feels like the auditory equivalent of a sleight-of-hand magic trick. Hirasawa is a musician magician.
It drags me out of depts of depression, and arms me to take on my future. Great song.
